Why do we use positive reinforcement training? There are truly so many benefits to positive reinforcement and these are just a few of those reasons why we teach dogs in the manner that we do. Positive reinforcement encourages our dogs to offer the desired behaviors, enhances learning, promotes confidence, is adaptable to different dogs, builds long lasting results and is science backed!!! Reinforcing the behaviors we love and prefer will help our dogs to be able to offer those behaviors more easily and more often! Learning should always be a fun opportunity and not something that is stressful or results in fear. We want all dogs to be able to learn at their pace and all owners to be supported in their training journey!

Thursday training tip! When you’re heading out on your walk with your dog, bring 3 treat options! One low value, one middle value and one high value. This gives you options on reinforcement and also keeps your dog more engaged on the walk. Having a special high value treat is always great for when you run into particularly tough situations.

Make sure you're keeping those New Year's resolutions and working hard on your training! Remember short session yield amazing results. Squeeze in 2-5 minutes of training every day and watch how quickly you and your pup progress! It doesn't have to be hours long sessions, you can truly take two minutes and focus on one to two skills. Reward reward reward and end on a good note! Happy training!

We love to help temperament test and place puppies to set families and their new puppies up to be successful together! Maybe someone has a super busy active home with lots of people coming and going, or maybe they have a really low key quiet home but plan to do tons of outings and travel. We can help assess the litter to find their best fit to set them all up for success. This service is offered for breeders (we will evaluate a whole litter and help you match them with the best home) or individuals looking for help picking their own puppy (we can evaluate for you and find your best suited match!).
