šŸŽƒšŸ¾ Our dogs are all dressed up and ready for Halloween! šŸ‘»šŸ’›

We made sure every pup in a costume was confident and comfortable — and they absolutely rocked it! In the midst of the emotional rescue work we’ve been doing recently, moments like this remind us to smile and celebrate the joy these dogs bring every single day. 🄰

We had a whole swarm of bees buzzing around šŸ, a caterpillar šŸ›, a minion šŸ’›, a bat šŸ¦‡, a hot dog 🌭, and even Snow White made an appearance! šŸ‘‘

These sweet pups are just as amazing as they are adorable. To learn more about them, visit our website.

Pupdate: NMDR Cheeto

ā€œCan you believe it’s been almost 3 months since I adopted Cheeto the Brussels? This little guy has completely transformed, and I couldn’t be more proud of him!

Cheeto is doing fantastic. One of our biggest wins? He now runs to greet my boyfriend at the door—something I never imagined when he used to shy away from men. He even lets my dad hold him sometimes! He has blossomed into such a social, sweet pup.

Cheeto comes to work with me at the salon and thinks he’s part of the welcoming committee. He charms every client and keeps the mood light with his spunky personality. Car rides? Absolutely his favorite—especially when they end with a pup cup at the coffee shop drive-thru!

His favorite toy is a little stuffed Cheeto (of course), and he LOVES warm baths and getting his haircut. He even lets me dress him in sweatshirts and his Halloween costume now. He trusts me that much. It melts my heart.

Cheeto has truly come out of his shell and into the sunshine of his new life. I love him so, so much. Thank you, NMDR, for giving this special boy a second chance!ā€

Yesterday, an incredible group of volunteers came together and bathed 27 of our newly rescued pups—in just three hours! Today, the rest will get their turn in the tub, one gentle rinse at a time.

These dogs have endured so much—years without basic care or comfort. But now, for the first time, they’re learning what it feels like to be clean, cared for, and truly loved.

Final grooming, medical checkups, and spay/neuter procedures are up next—and some of these sweet souls will be ready for adoption by the end of this week. Head to our website and get your application in now so you’re ready when they are.

Stay until the end of the video to see those post-bath faces… relaxed, relieved, and beginning to believe in the good.

Hope Begins Here.

Every single dog from our recent emergency rescue from an unlicensed breeder was groomed before the sun rose. Not one was left to endure another hour of pain.

An incredible team of volunteer groomers from The Pet Pawlor and Stubby’s Dog Wash & Grooming Salon worked late into the night to gently free these dogs from years of suffering. This wasn’t about beauty—it was about relief. Their severely matted coats had to be shaved down to the skin to bring them comfort. Every mat removed meant less pain, less fear, and one step closer to healing.

Mats like these aren’t just uncomfortable—they’re cruel. They pull at the skin, hide infection, cause sores, and rob dogs of the ability to move freely or regulate temperature. Last night, that torment ended. They spent their first night in warmth, safety, and peace.

Today, they’ll experience something else new—a bath given with love. Tomorrow, we’ll share those touching moments with you.

This rescue was never on the schedule, but the need was urgent—and we said yes. Because how could we not? Now we need your help to keep saying yes.

Please consider making a donation to help us provide the ongoing care and healing these dogs deserve:

šŸŽ Senior Sunday Spotlight: MacIntosh! 🐾
šŸ“ Peyton, CO

Say hello to MacIntosh, an 11-year-old, 4-month-young Pomeranian who recently joined us here in Peyton, CO! This handsome little fluff is a new arrival and already turning heads with his charm and playful spirit.

Even though we’re still getting to know him, MacIntosh has already made some furry friends in playgroup — he’s a social butterfly (or should we say, a social Pom?) who loves a good romp and a tail-wagging good time. šŸ¶šŸ’«

At this stage in life, MacIntosh is the perfect mix of wise and whimsical — old enough to appreciate a good nap, but still young enough at heart to keep up with his buddies.

We can’t wait to see his personality blossom as he settles in! šŸ’•

If you would love to give MacIntosh, or any of our other adoptable dogs a home, please visit the Available Dogs page on our website: https://nmdr.org/our-dogs/available-dogs/

Soft Blankets, Soothing Souls

For dogs who’ve only known cold wire floors and hard, lonely days, the simple gift of a blanket is life-changing. Last night, for the very first time, these 52 newly rescued souls (rescued from an unliscensed breeder) felt softness beneath them. As they curled into their first blankets—many trembling, some unsure—you could feel the shift. This… this is where hope begins.

Later today, we’ll share a powerful video from last night’s emergency grooming session. Every dog who was suffering from painful mats was gently groomed before we left for the night. No one went to sleep in pain. Love demanded it—and love is our legacy.

This emergency rescue wasn’t planned, but we couldn’t turn our backs. If you feel moved to help, donations are deeply appreciated to help cover medical care, supplies, and the gentle healing these dogs now begin:

And don’t miss our new ā€œHope Begins Hereā€ shirt—a powerful way to stand with these dogs and help carry them into a better life:

UPDATE: We had some technical issues with our microphone on Facebook. The volume on Instagram is much better and it is the same offload. Please consider checking it out there for better sound.

Tonight is going to be hard to watch, but please keep in mind, this is just the beginning of their story. Love and healing are here. These dogs were rescued yesterday from a commercial breeder in the Midwest and are now arriving at our shelter in Peyton, CO.

Clearly they needed our help. We’re so glad they’re here. Stay tuned in the next few days to watch their stories unfold. Hope truly does start here, in this moment.

Hope Begins Here – 52 Lives Rescued Today

Today, 52 dogs were saved during an emergency rescue—one we didn’t plan for, but couldn’t walk away from. These precious souls were out of time… left without hope… until today.

Now, the first chapter of their healing begins.
Tonight, they rest safely at our Dogsville shelter.
Tomorrow, they travel to Peyton, CO, where love, patience, and compassion will guide their every step.

Stay tuned for more video updates as these dogs experience some of life’s firsts—first soft touch, first gentle voice, first real chance. Then, help us welcome them home during our live stream tomorrow evening at 6pm MT.

Because this rescue was unplanned, we’re launching a special support campaign: ā€œHope Begins Here.ā€

Please consider donating to help provide vet care, enrichment, soft beds, nourishing meals, and the gentle hands that will guide them into the next chapter of their lives.

This kennel is empty.

Because someone said yes.
Yes to watching.
Yes to sharing.
Yes to opening their heart—and their home.

One dog is safe, loved, and finally home. And because of that, another life can now be saved.

This is the impact of choosing to act. It’s what happens when we move from compassion to commitment.

šŸ’› You can be the reason the next kennel is empty.
Adopt. Foster. Donate. Share.
Every single step matters.

šŸ”— Visit our website to meet the dogs still waiting.
Together, let’s turn empty kennels into hope-filled beginnings.
