First I want to say thank you to the NKCUSA for choosing a specialty location close enough to home so we could make it this year 😂 also for putting on a great show! I entered Ori in 5 days of conformation and 5 days of FastCAT (total of 10 runs) and she ran and showed her little heart out every single time! Ori did finish up her FCAT3 title as well! While she got dumped every single day in conformation, she did manage to make the final cut I believe 3 out of the 5 days? So that was pretty impressive to me considering the competition we had! My wonderful husband took Ori in the ring for our national specialty and he did a beautiful job handling her ❤️
My bred by, Foxtrot, was entered in 1 day of BPUP where he went breed but got no love in groups. That's totally fine because we were amongst some beautiful sporting puppies! Then he turned 6 months old to the day and was entered as my bred by on Saturday. He got second place in BBE out of 2 puppies 😂
Then there's my little Neah Bay who was entered in BPUP on Thursday where she took BOB and also a group 3!! She then was entered in bred by and puppy sweepstakes for our national specialty and got first in her class for sweepstakes and got 4th in bred by. Our sweepstakes judge was very kind and said wonderful things about Neah mentioning how beautiful and lovely she was but just needs more time. I agreed with that and thanked her for the kind words and recognition.
Nobody can ever forget flirty boy Odin lol this boy truly blew us away these 5 days in Perry. He ran a total of 10 CAT runs which is more than he's ever run in one weekend! He did only qualify in 9 of them due to the line breaking on the first day and he got confused and went off to p*e. The joys of boy dogs 🙄😂 he did earn his CAX title finally after working towards it for 2 years! Odin was entered for one day only which was for our national specialty. If you didn't know, Odin is now in semi retirement from conformation but I wanted to bring him back out and showcase him as a special at our national specialty. I owed him that. He managed to make the final cut amongst a lot of beautiful male specials! While he didn't win anything, knowing the judge liked Odin enough to make the final cut was such a huge reward for me. He is my first everything dog so him being recognized was so rewarding ❤️
I got to meet some people in person for the first time and made some new friends in the process. It was a really good weekend overall win or lose. I appreciated how friendly most people were and the help that was offered when it was definitely needed lol I still have a lot to work on with all my dogs and even myself. I feel like I learned a lot this weekend and I hope I get to see some friendly faces again at future shows. Congrats to all winners this weekend!
