Our mission is to promote and protect the health, safety, and welfare of pets and people by taking in and placing homeless companion animals, encouraging and supporting spay/neuter, providing community outreach to ensure proper animal stewardship, and promoting rational and effective animal care and control policies at all levels of government.

Unfortunately not all cats thrive in a shelter environment...and Gingersnap was one such cat 😿 She spent most of her days hiding in the laundry room to avoid the other cats, which meant she wasn't always visible to potential adopters and was often overlooked 😮‍💨 But thanks to one very special adopter who saw just how desperately she needed a home, Gingersnap now has a new lease on life! 🥳 She will be a spoiled only kitty in a nice, quiet home 💞

My, oh my, Mother's Day has come a little early here at Pets Alive WNY! 🥰 In the last week, we've had 11 kittens born to 3 moms...and there's still more to come! 😵‍💫 And what do they all have in common? They're hungry! 😋 Nursing moms need extra calories to help them produce milk and care for their sweet babies...and that's why we're asking for your help! 🙏 We are in desperate need of Friskies Pate, Friskies Gravy Chunky, Prime Filets or Meaty Bits, and Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers, Delights or Grilled 🍗🐟
Food donations can either be dropped off or shipped directly to our cat shelter located at 7007 Campbell Blvd, North Tonawanda, NY 14120.

🐾 Stitch Update + Staycation Raffle Alert! 🐾

Our brave little foster kitten Stitch visited the vet this week --- and we're so relieved to share some GOOD news: his latest x-ray showed drastic improvement in his pneumonia! 🙌 Because of that progress, we're no longer moving forward with the risky lung culture. Instead, Stitch is now beginning a 6-week course of two different antibiotics to fully knock out the infection 💊💪

However, long-term antibiotic use does come with potential risks of their own, including low white blood cell counts. So Stitch will need ongoing lab work to monitor his health throughout treatment

👋 Hello everyone, it's me, Stitch! 👋

As you can see, I'm becoming a big boi! My foster mom says I'm the bees knees...whatever that means 🐝 I just know I love cuddles, purrs, face snuggles and kisses! 😽

But even though I've been such a good boy and tried lots of medicine, I'm still not feeling my best 😿 I have more vet visits coming up, and we're hoping for answers (and treats, definitely treats!) 😺

We couldn't resist posting this accidental photo! 😍 Prince is so gorgeous he could be on the cover of ! Prince spent his entire young life fighting to survive on the streets of Niagara Falls 😿 But it didn't take him long to get accustomed to the ! He is laid back, affectionate and attention seeking ❤️ Once you show him a little love, he will follow you around like a puppy 🥰 He does great with other cats and would make the purrfect low maintenance kitty companion! 💕

Despite the fact that it's kitten season here in WNY, a large percentage of our rescue calls are concerning cats whose owners have passed away 💔 Tori here is one of those cats 😞 Her elderly owner passed and neither her children nor grandchildren were willing or able to take this sweet girl 😮‍💨 She had spent 8 years living in a nice quiet home, and now she's struggling to adapt to the noisy and chaotic shelter life 😿
And as evidenced by all the phone calls we've received lately, this is a rather commonplace occurrence. And it's one of the reasons we ask potential adopters to think about their life stage and what cat best suits them when looking for a new feline family member. Because despite our best laid plans, there is not always someone in your life able to step up and care for the animal who you loved so dearly 😥 So instead of adopting that crazy little kitten, look instead at the senior kitty who just wants a nice cozy lap to curl up in 🥰

How picture purrfect is this little guy? 😍 Bliss is a confident, loving, and attention seeking catten! 🧡 His adorable antics (like crawling into the refrigerator) will keep you on your toes...but be careful because this playful boy loves to be right under foot! 😂 Because of his energetic personality, Bliss will do best in a home where he has another young kitty to play with! 💞 He also does well with kids and dogs... actually he's pretty perfect if we do say so ourselves! 😁

Spring has finally sprung, which means kitten season has begun! 🌷🐱 These are two of our newest intakes Muffin & Oreo 💕 And apparently they've never heard the phrase, "Beggars can't be choosers" because they are just not feeling the pate! 😂🤢 If you'd like to send them a more savory supper selection, they would love either Friskies Gravy or Meaty Bits or Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers or Delights! 😋 We can't promise that Yoda won't try to hijack it at the door, but we'll do our very best! 🤣

This smile can light up a room! 🌞🧡 Mabel was rescued from an outdoor colony where she very likely wouldn't have made it to adulthood 😿 But as you can see, she is now thriving as an indoor kitten! 💓 She is a happy, flirty and playful little girl who would love a family to call her own! 💞 She will need a home with a young kitty friend to play with or she can go him with one of her siblings, Soos or Wendy! 💕

Despite him still being just a kitten, Squiggles former owner was keeping him as an indoor/outdoor kitty. As a result, he was covered with fleas and so severely matted that we had to shave him 😮‍💨 And many people don't understand that mats are not purely cosmetic; they pull on the cat's skin, making it painful for them to even move! 😿
But now this beautiful baby has a new lease on life! He has a new mommy and a big brother (also adopted from us!) who will love and spoil him! ❤️
