🎉 ADOPTION DAY FOR SHERE KHAN! 🎉

This devilishly handsome guy has finally found his people! 🥰

Rescued from the streets, Shere Khan is a tough guy with a big personality! He made it very clear during his stay with us that he preferred a kingdom all to himself! No dogs and no other cats, thank you very much! He certainly kept the other shelter kitties on their toes! 😳

While finding the perfect home took a little extra time, it was well worth the wait! We couldn't be happier for Shere Khan as he starts this exciting new chapter with a family all his own! 💞

Happy Adoption Day, Shere Khan! 🎊 🩵

As our fundraiser enters it's final days, we'd like you to meet one more very special cat whose life has been changed because of the support of people like you 💛

Sue was rescued from a rural property that had become overrun with stray cats. She and her "sister" Sadie arrived with 11 kittens... none of which actually belonged to them! Yet these amazing girls helped care for all of the kittens, showing just how gentle, loving, and devoted they truly are! 🥰

Sue is on the shy side, which can make it a little harder for adopters to get to know her at first. But with the right person and a little patience, she is nothing but sweetness 🩷

And do we really need to point out that adorable little face?! 😍

She is patiently waiting for a forever family who can see beyond her timid personality and recognize the gentle soul shining underneath ✨

Cats like Sue remind us why Pets Alive WNY exists. Despite everything they've been through, they continue to trust, love, and hope for a better future! 🙏

Right now, Sue and more than 100 other cats rely on us every day for food, medical care, shelter, and safety. The support we've received during this fundraiser has already made a real difference, and we are incredibly grateful! 🩷

If you'd like to help us finish strong, please consider making a donation or sharing this post. Every contribution helps provide the care, comfort, and second chances that cats like Sue deserve ❤️

Your donations are helping cats like Regan! 💛

Regan was rescued from a busy road along with several other cats. They were all battling upper respiratory infections and struggling to survive, and the homeowner had become completely overwhelmed 💔

When Regan arrived at the vet, it quickly became clear that her left eye was too severely infected to save and had to be removed. What was originally supposed to be a TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) situation suddenly became a full rescue.

We simply couldn’t imagine a one-eyed cat trying to survive outside near a busy road.

When Regan first came to us, she was fearful and more than a little spicy 😅 But we firmly believe every cat deserves a chance, even when trust takes time 🙏

Since then, Regan has made huge strides, and her quirky, silly personality now wins over just about everyone she meets! 💓

Stories like Regan’s are exactly why Pets Alive WNY exists, to give cats a real chance, no matter their past or medical challenges 🩷

Right now, Regan, along with more than 100 other cats currently in our care, relies on us every day for food, medical care, shelter, and safety.

Your donations truly help make stories like hers possible 🌈

Please help us continue caring for cats like Regan:

📣 And as always, sharing these stories helps us reach more people who care! 🥰

Meet Possum 🐾

Possum is still young, but she’s already had more homes than any cat should 😿

She was first adopted from another rescue, then had to be rehomed when her adopter discovered they could not have multiple pets in their apartment. The next family faced a similar situation and passed her along to a relative.

After that…we don’t know exactly what happened...

What we do know is that she was eventually dumped in a cardboard box outside our shelter on a cold, rainy day. She had escaped the box and thankfully a volunteer had discovered her hiding in the bushes.

Possum was born with a cranial defect. She looks a little different, and she walks with a gentle wobble that somehow makes her even more lovable 🩷 We still don’t know exactly what the future holds for her medically, but right now, she is safe, warm, fed, and loved.

And for the first time in her life, she isn’t being passed along.

Cats like Possum are exactly why Pets Alive WNY exists. They need stability. They need patience. They need people willing to give them a chance, even when they may require a little extra care or understanding.

With your support, we can help make sure Possum, along with more than 100 other cats currently in our care, continues to have the safety, comfort, medical care, and love she deserves ❤️

💛 Please help us keep Possum safe:

🐾 A Message From Pets Alive WNY 🐾

Over the past few months, our rescue went through an abrupt leadership transition that left us in a very difficult position financially and operationally. At one point, we faced the painful question of whether we could realistically continue forward at all.

But closing our doors would have meant giving up on cats who still deserve a chance. So, of course, we’ve chosen to keep fighting for them! ❤️

Right now, the cats in our care rely on us every day for:
🥣 food and litter
💊 medication and medical care
💉 vaccines and veterinary treatment
🧹 cleaning and shelter maintenance
❤️ safety, stability, and compassion

Many of the cats in our care are not easy or immediate adoptions. Some come to us with medical needs, trauma, behavioral challenges, or simply need extra time, patience, and socialization before they are ready for homes.
And we believe those cats deserve a chance too 🩵

We also take pride in carefully matching cats with the right families rather than rushing adoptions. Over the years, we’ve learned that thoughtful placements usually lead to happier homes and fewer returns, even if it sometimes means cats stay with us a little longer while waiting for the right fit 🏡

Right now, we’re working hard not only to get through kitten season, but to rebuild the organization into something stronger, safer, and more sustainable for the future.

In the coming days, many supporters will receive our annual fundraising mailer, which unfortunately did not get out during this past holiday season despite how much we depend on it each year. Now that we’ve stabilized operations, we’re hoping this fundraiser can help us continue what we’ve started, rebuilding for the future.

That’s why this year’s fundraiser means more than ever 🙏

Even if you do not receive a mailer, you can still help the cats directly through our online donation page:

https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/emergency-help-keep-pets-alive-wnys-doors-open

And if donating is not possible right now, simply sharing this post genuinely helps us more than you may realize.

To everyone who has supported us through this difficult transition: thank you. We are still here, and the cats are worth fighting for! ❤️🐈

🎉💖 Happy Birthday, Olive! 💖🎉

We want to give the BIGGEST thank you to this amazing little girl and the wonderful Kind Kidz Crew of WNY for choosing to ask for donations for our shelter in lieu of birthday gifts! 🥹 Acts of kindness and selflessness like this are what keep us going day after day!

Olive comes from a pretty incredible family too! Earlier this year, her brothers Dexter & Jenson also chose to collect donations for their birthdays! ❤️ This sweet trio have such big hearts, and it was so special to see Dexter and Jenson helping Olive bring in all the goodies for the cats! 🐾

Beacuse of compassionate kids like these, our shelter cats will have food, care, comfort and love while they wait for their forever families! We (and the kitties too!) are so incredibly grateful for your generosity and kindness! 🥰

Thank you for making your special days about helping animals in need! We hope you all know just how much your support means to us! 💕😻

Murph has been patiently waiting for his furever family for almost TWO YEARS...😭

With his adorable pageboy haircut and soulful eyes, this sweet but shy boy has come such a long way since being rescued from life outdoors. Born and raised outside with very little human contact, Murph was terrified when he first arrived at the shelter 🥺

After a few months in foster care, Murph finally began to feel safe enough to show his true personality! He became sweet, playful, purry and just a tiny bit sassy! 😅 He learned to enjoy attention, play with toys and bond with the people around him. While he still has some boundaries he is working through, it's clear that there is a loving, funny little cat underneath all that fear! 🩵

But sadly, long-term shelter life has dimmed that spark again. The chaos, noise and constant activity have made Murph anxious and withdrawn, and lately he’s become scared again. What he desperately needs is a safe, quiet home where he can finally relax and rediscover the confident little cat he was becoming in foster care 🙏

One thing Murph has always loved? Other cats! In fact, he needs a home with another friendly feline companion (or more!) to help him feel safe and confident. Just recently, Murph watched his sisters finally get adopted, while he was left behind yet again 😞

Murph would thrive with a patient, compassionate family willing to give him the extra TLC and understanding he deserves. He has waited almost two years for someone to truly see him. Will you be the one to finally show Murph what it feels like to be loved? ❤️

While her beautiful brothers Niko & Jax just found their furever home together, little Willow is still patiently waiting for her happily ever after! 🖤🤍

This sweet girl is everything a kitten should be: silly, playful, energetic, and incredibly affectionate! ❤️ Willow keeps everyone entertained with her adorable antics, and yes… she even loves to play fetch! 🎾

When she’s done zooming around, she turns into the ultimate cuddle bug who just wants to snuggle up close with her people! 💞

Willow would do best in a home with another young kitty friend to wrestle, play, and grow up with! 💕 She does well with dogs and kiddos too! 😻

If you'd like to give little Willow the loving furever home she deserves, please fill out an online adoption application here:
