🎉 A heartfelt THANK YOU to our amazing volunteers who made today’s Open House such a success! 🎉

Over 100 visitors came through our doors and enjoyed guided tours of the shelter, educational insights from our passionate volunteers, and some tail-wagging fun with our Animal Control Officer.

Guests had the opportunity to connect with our wonderful community partners—Companion Pets, West Park Animal Hospital, and Bartels Busack Pet Hospital & Spa. Plus, CHOMPS made some picture-perfect memories with our visitors, and the Parma Police Support K9 Officer stole the show taking a dip in the pool!

We wrapped up the day with sweet treats from Honey Hut Ice Cream, and we’re thrilled to share that our very own Loretta will be featured tonight on Channel 3 News at 11 PM—don’t miss it!

Meet Tamarind. Tamarind is a long time resident. She’s an independent , confident ,and a little bit of a sassy cat who has a sweet soul and a zesty spirit. She has lots of love to give to the right person , couple or family with teenage children. She’s a lap cat, purrs and is a professional biscuit maker.
Once she feels safe, her affectionate side blossoms. She is friendly and loves nose pets and will give kitty kisses and a slow blink if she earns your trust.

Chuckles is ready to bring endless joy and laughter into your life. Chuckles is a male shepherd mix that weighs 57 pounds and is 3 years old. With his playful spirit, affectionate nature, and sharp mind, Chuckles is the perfect companion for anyone looking for a lively and loving buddy. He came to us as a transfer from the City of Cleveland Kennel.

Chuckles loves to play. His boundless energy and enthusiasm are truly infectious, making every moment with him a blast. And he`s not just fun for his humans—Chuckles is also social and playful with other dogs, meaning he could potentially enjoy a canine companion in his home. But when playtime is over, Chuckles loves to snuggle up with his favorite humans, showering them with affection and cuddles.

Chuckles isn’t just about fun and games—he’s also incredibly smart. This clever pup picks up new tricks and commands quickly, always eager to learn and show off his skills. He already knows how to sit and shake, and he consistently keeps his kennel clean.

Chuckles is available for our foster to adopt program which means you can foster him in your home until he finishes vetting which includes updated vaccines. He is already neutered, heartworm negative and microchipped. Please email [email protected] and fill out an adoption application online to meet Chuckles. Chuckles` adoption fee is $160.

Tabby is a gentle soul with a heart full of love. Quiet, calm and endlessly affectionate, she`s happiest curled up in a warm lap. She adores attention and is a true lap cat and loyal companion.

Tabby is easy to pet and loves head, cheek and ear rubs, but loves neck scratches the best and will roll to her side. She does not care for belly rubs.

Tabby will curl up on your lap and make biscuits, sometimes even while she`s sleeping! She loves looking out the window at the squirrels and birds and loves to chill on the windowsill or the climbing wall in the adoption room.

Tabby should be okay with another cat, dog and children. Tabby would be a wonderful addition to any family. If you`re looking for a cat who wants to be part of a family, then Tabby is your cat. Fill out an application online.

Meet Tamarind – the zesty sweetheart with a heart of gold!

Her name might sound a little tangy, but Tamarind is all sweetness once you get to know her. This young adult gal is the perfect mix of curious and cuddly. At first, she might take her time warming up, but once she feels safe, her loving side shines through like sunshine on a windowsill.

Tamarind loves gentle nose boops, kitty kisses, and giving you her best biscuit-making performance. She’s also got the sweetest little purr that kicks in the moment you pet her—and if she gives you a slow blink, congratulations, you’re in her circle of trust!

She enjoys exploring and strutting her stuff in the main cat room, but she really blossoms in a cozy, calm space where she feels secure. She’s becoming more confident every day, even rubbing up against you for affection and slowly learning that laps are actually kind of amazing.

Tamarind is ready to greet her forever family with love and a little sass. She may do best with someone who can give her a bit of patience and TLC while she continues to come out of her shell. She might even be okay with a calm dog or another cat and would likely do well with older, respectful kiddos.
