Northeast Ohio SPCA No-Kill Pet Shelter Through adoption, spay and neuter, and education, we save lives to make euthanasia of healthy animals unnecessary.

The purpose of the Northeast Ohio SPCA no-kill Pet Shelter is to provide a safe haven for abandoned, healthy homeless, and adoptable loving pets until they can find a home. The shelter opened in April of 2004 and has since adopted out 43,000 pets in the community as of 2023. The Northeast Ohio SPCA is a non-profit, private agency and receives no government funding. The shelter relies on donations and support from members in the community.

💙 Some dogs don't need saving... they just need someone willing to slow down, and thats what Sterling needs.

Sterling was recently adopted but returned when it became clear he wasn't yet comfortable leaving the house. New environments are overwhelming for him, and he simply needs more time to adjust and possibly a quieter, calmer neighborhood.

Unfortunately, dogs like Sterling often don't feel safe within a week.
New places, new people, and new routines are overwhelming for him. Right now, he's so timid that he often needs to be carried outside, and leash walks can feel like too much. But if you're patient, everything changes.
Once Sterling knows you, he is incredibly sweet and forms deep, meaningful bonds with the people he trusts. He loves treats, toys, and gentle affection, and every little bit of progress feels like a huge victory.

We think Sterling would thrive with a patient family, a quiet neighborhood, and possibly even a confident dog friend to help show him the ropes. A fenced yard may also help him gain confidence as he learns the outdoors isn't so scary.

Sterling also lived with children and did well, but because of his shy nature, he'd do best with gentle, respectful kids who understand his need for personal space and would always be supervised during interactions.
Sterling isn't looking for perfection. He's looking for someone who understands that trust isn't given... it's earned. And once you've earned his, you'll have a friend for life.❤️

Sterling is a 1yr old lab mix weighing around 50 lbs.

💙 Hello Auggie! 💙

Auggie is a handsome 6-year-old with the most stunning pools of blue eyes and a heart just as beautiful. While shelter life has him feeling a little scared, he's incredibly sweet, loves to chat, and enjoys playtime.

He's previously done well with children and dogs. We're unsure how he'll do with other cats, but we think a slow introduction would set him up for success.

Auggie will need a dental, but don't let that stop you from meeting this wonderful boy. Come say hello—you just might fall in love with those gorgeous blue eyes. 🐾
