Are your fur babies up to date on their rabies vaccine?! A coyote that attacked a resident in Saddle River tested positive for rabies last week. Although rare, there are documented rabies cases in our local community. Rabies is a virus that infects the central nervous system of the brain, and it can be transmitted to humans. Your canine kids need to have their rabies vaccine booster every 3 years after their initial puppy booster. Our feline friends need a rabies booster every year, regardless of if they go outside or not. Please give our office a call if you don’t know your pet’s vaccine status. Help us help you keep your furry friends safe! 🐾

Ewwwww!!! If you are unfamiliar with these creepy crawlers, let us introduce you to tick nymphs! 😱 Unfortunately, we have seen multiple pets recently who have been covered in these little parasites. Autumn is peak flea and tick season, so please make sure your fur babies are current on their monthly flea and tick prevention, such as Simparica Trio for our canine friends, and Revolution Plus for our feline companions. Give our office a call if you need a refill! Keep your pets safe from tick borne diseases! 🐾

It’s that time of year again! Kids are back to school, parents are back to work, and our fur babies have to relearn to entertain themselves. Sometimes this can be hard for our furry companions, and they can develop some separation anxiety.

Signs of separation anxiety can include destructive behavior, constant barking, pacing, decreased appetite, accidents in the house and/or attempting to escape.

To help foster a smooth transition for your baby, you can provide extra love, new toys, new enrichment, leave music or the tv on, and if necessary, supplements or medications can be added in.

Meet Boomer! Sweet, lovable Boomer, through absolutely no fault of his own, has been surrendered to Peace4Paws Rescue. His loving family was forced to surrender him due to a dispute with neighbors, and they reached out for help in finding him a loving home!

He is a 3 1/2 year old Pit Mix. He is full grown weighing about 55lbs and is about 14 inches tall at his back. Boomer has soulful eyes, and is a happy, playful, sweet and lovable boy!

Peace4Paws says that he gets along well with children and other dogs. He is housebroken and keeps his crate very clean! He does not chew on objects and does well in the car. He may need some basic training to curb some excitable jumping, because he loves to greet everyone he meets! He is up to date on his vaccines.

His favorite activities are tug of war, cuddling, and giving his humans love! He is a fan of the movie Toy Story if you’re looking for a buddy to cuddle up in front of the tv with! He loves walks and would definitely love a fenced in yard where he can run and play!
