I used to have a whole list of things I said I’d never do as a groomer when I opened my salon back in 2012!
Skip lunch. Overbook myself. Say yes to dogs I shouldn’t take. Keep clients I knew weren’t a good fit. And so many more!
And then over time . . . I found myself doing all of it and I didn’t even notice what I have done to myself. And it’s not because I didn’t care about me or my business. Honestly it was the opposite. I cared too much and didn’t have anything in place to support that for me.
And of course it didn’t happen all at once either. It was one yes at a time over and over again until I started feeling it.
And before I knew it, I was burnt out. 😒
I know I’m not the only one who’s been there. I see it happening all the time on fb groups, social media posts and talking to other groomers.
So many of us groomer have been there at one point or another. You’re not alone. And it doesn’t have to stay that way. The first step is to realize it and begin to make changes that work better for you in your space/business. 🫶🏻
What’s something you said you’d never do that somehow had become your normal?
