We collaborate closely with designers, architects, and builders to ensure every custom door reflects their vision. That attention to detail was especially important in this residential project, where the interior design drew inspiration from traditional 1800s homes. We sourced reclaimed white oak to match the period feel, and after testing more than 20 finish samples, we landed on the perfect one — a custom two-tone whitewashed finish that brings warmth, texture, and authenticity to the space.

Finishing is the most important step you can take to protect your wooden exterior door. After a door is cut and assembled, we stain or paint it, depending on your preference, and apply three coats of Sansin marine-grade epoxy to protect against the weather. From there, our doors are mostly maintenance-free. However, we do recommend an additional coat of protectant every three to five years.

It's always an honor to work on a local landmark! The Lancaster Central Market is one of the city's most iconic structures, and thousands of people walk through its red doors each week. We're in the process of replacing the market's 12 sets of doors. While the new doors are virtually identical to the originals, they offer enhanced security and accessibility.

With high interest rates, more homeowners are choosing to improve upon their current house rather than move. But when it comes to a new addition, how do you ensure it flows seamlessly with the rest of the home? The right set of doors can help create a smooth transition between the old and new spaces.

- A beautiful set of French doors can offer a glimpse into a bright, airy sunroom.
- Sliding barn doors are perfect for concealing a cozy recreational space or a guest suite.
- A Dutch door can be a great addition to a children's playroom, allowing parents to keep an eye on children in an adjoining room by opening the top half of the door.

What types of home additions have you been seeing lately?

The most sustainable thing you can do is to make use of what already exists. That’s why we love working with reclaimed wood. When you build a reclaimed wood door, table, or staircase, you prevent viable wood from ending up in a landfill. Oftentimes, this wood has been exposed to years of weather and changes in humidity, which strengthens it and prevents it from warping. Reclaimed wood tells the story of its previous life through nail holes, knots, and wormholes, making each piece unique and beautiful.

In the spirit of Earth Day, we encourage you to find the beauty in repurposing something old into something new that will live on for years to come. 🌎
