Help me out with this surprise!
Dick McKenney, a co-founder of the Medallion Rottweiler Club, will be taking a Veterans' "Vetsroll" trip to the US Capitol in mid-May. This program is similar to "Honor Flight"; however, this group is local to his area, and they bring 125 veterans to the National Capitol for the Veterans to visit the Memorials.
At the end of the trip, each veteran is given a packet of mail for "mail call" of letters and cards from family and friends. As a surprise and to honor Dick, it would be wonderful if those from the "Dog Show Family" could send a note thanking Dick for his service to our Country.

Dick met his wife, Marcella, in Germany while serving there between 1958 and 1960. He also got in a bit of trouble when his superior found out he had left the base to handle a dog at a dog show. Apparently, his "Best in Show" photo appeared on the front page of the local newspaper. 😄

The letters and/or cards must be delivered to the address by MAY 11!

This is my greeting every morning when I come down stairs. You would think they hadn't been sleeping for 8 hours and are exhausted!
They get up when their breakfast bowl gets put down though! 🙄

Did your dog swallow an object it should not have? Be sure to check into management options before rushing to surgery for obstruction.

Studies show management., (iv fluids, Metamucil, ) is a far better choice, but not often done.

Things to consider are size of the dog, size of the object, how long has it been in the intestine, & linear or discrete (string vs. solid objects) among a few.

Always try fluids first as when a Dog is dehydrated, the intestine slows.

Can you manage GI foreign bodies sans surgery?

Michayla is a dog show junior handler who has been struck with a very rare cancer, Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma. Her family needs all the financial help they can get to cover travel, medical bills, lost wages for her parents etc.
Help if you can. I cannot imagine how scary this is for such a young person, or her parents.

I try not to put political stuff on my kennel facebook but I feel it is important enough today.

If you live in the awful State of Illinois, March 17, Tuesday is primary election day. Don't let someone else choose your candidates for you.

If pulling a Republican ballot,Ted Dabrowski has intelligence, financially savvy, patriotic, and supports law enforcement. He can beat Pitzker.

We know IL Gov Pitzker supports the anti pure bred breeding people, and continues to allow regulations and laws that are destroying our pure breeds and our show sports.

K9 Rocky and DUSM Deacon were both awarded the purple heart recently after both being shot twice by an offender who had already killed another law enforcement officer.
Congratulations! Very happy to see both have returned to duty!
