Since the organization began in 1990, more than 6,000 greyhounds/sighthounds have found their forever homes within our adoption radius.

Kansas City Retired Greyhounds as Pets (KCREGAP) is a 501(c)3 not for profit charitable organization that finds forever, loving homes for retired greyhound racing dogs, lurchers and other sighthounds. Kansas City Retired Greyhounds as Pets (KCREGAP) is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to finding loving homes for retired greyhounds and other sighthounds. These dogs may be anywhere from under 1 year old to 8 or 9 years old when they come to our group, and come from different backgrounds. They then receive any needed veterinary care, including: spay/neuter, dental cleaning, vaccinations, heartworm preventative, and treatment for any intestinal parasites. The dogs are then placed in foster homes so that they can learn “house rules” as many have never been in a home before, and may have never seen stairs, have had a dog bed of their own, or played with toys. These special foster families help to make the dogs’ transition to their forever home a success
Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok to hear about upcoming events where you can meet our available pups.

20 galgos were flown from Madrid to Chicago last week with 5 going to Kansas City REGAP.
The trip wouldn’t have been possible without the generous sponsorship of Daphne Legacy Tour & the partnerships we have with SOS GALGOS (oficial), Protectora y Santuario Scooby & American Greyhound.

The trip had a profound impact on the KC REGAP volunteer flight companions, emboldening us to help more of these sweet dogs.

Can you spare some time to walk a hound? We need your help!! 💚

With more greyhounds coming into our care, we need some extra hands to walk the dogs staying in our kennel while they wait for foster homes.

We know weekdays can be a tough ask, but even an hour of your time can make a huge difference. Whether you can help once a week or whenever your schedule allows, every walk matters!

And the best part? You get to spend time with these sweet pups, give them some much-needed love and make their days brighter while they wait for their next chapter. 🐾💚

Can you lend a hand (and a leash)? Email [email protected] if you can help!

Charlie has been waiting a long time for his special someone.

This handsome senior has so much to offer! He loves walks, toys, treats and showing affection to his people. He is looking for an experienced, patient adopter who can give him the safe, structured home he needs. He’d do best as the only pet in a home with adults or teens 13+.

He may not be the right fit for every family, but his perfect match is out there. Please share and help us find the loving home this sweet boy deserves! 🐾💚
