We heard you! We are offering low-cost heartworm testing and prevention next Thursday afternoon.
Follow this process to secure your appointment:
1. Complete the application and consent form by scanning the QR code or click here: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/community/PPAS/192209-heartworm-clinic-august-6th-2026
2. In the application you will select your appointment time.
3. Our team will review your application and send you a payment link for you to prepay the $25 booking fee. The booking fee includes the examination by a licensed veterinarian, heartworm testing and a complimentary rabies vaccine, microchip and Distemper/Parvo combo vaccine if needed.
4. On the day of the clinic you will arrive at Prairie Paws, your dog will be weighed and you will be directed to an exam room.
5. The veterinarian will examine your dog, a blood sample will be collected, and the vaccines and microchip will be administered while you await the results of the test.
6. After the test is complete you can elect for an injection of Proheart 12 which prevents heartworm disease for 12 months. This will incur an extra fee listed below.
7. If your dog tests positive for heartworm disease our veterinarians will consult you on the required treatment.
