Pebbles is currently located in Saline Michigan and finds herself looking for a new home.

She is scheduled to be spayed at the end of next week and will be ready for her new home shortly after.

Pebbles is a spunky girl with separation anxiety, who would do good in a home with other dogs. She is 2 years old and looking for a home that has the time and patience to help her adapt to her new surroundings.

If you are interested please contact her current owner Aurora at (517)902-7304.

Hello everyone! This shelter in Missouri has asked us to share their dogs, as they have some listed as AKK that they received from a mill. They do appear to be mixes (looks like some Shiba and "pomsky" types), but a couple could possibly be part or even mostly AKK. Please do take a look and go for a visit if you think any of them may be a good fit for you!

Zoey (8) and Maya (7) find themselves in need of a new home. From their owner, "They are both amazing dogs that love their owners with their whole heart. They are cuddly and sweet, and very loyal. They are good watch dogs and have always made me feel very safe. The reason we are rehoming them is because I had twin girls and they dont do very well with small children. Neither one of them have bit anyone but they have acted like they might. (just towards the kids.) I think it is the kids high energy that makes them nervous. They also tried to attack our cat. I would prefer if they stay together because they have always been together. They would do best in a home with older children (12+) and families or households with no small animals. They do fine with other dogs if they are bigger than them. Zoey is about 22 lbs and Maya is 16lbs. Please contact me if interested, I want them to go to a home that is loving and devoted dog people. It is really hard for me to rehome them they are both like my babies but it is too hard to keep them seperated from the family all day and they deserve more attention."

Zoey and Maya are located in Arizona. Please contact their owner, Brooke, for any information at (480) 278-4517.

Update: Everest has found a new home.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Everest resides in Idaho

Size: 20-25 lbs (Standard Size)

We are looking to assist in rehoming a 2 1/2-year-old female Klee Kai, Everest. She is not spayed and needs shots. Her original family rehomed her to her secondary home a year ago. They are no longer able to keep her due to unforeseen circumstances. She is a good girl with some training and commands but with the changes over the last year, her behavior is slipping. She is active and loves her walks & runs but she does leash pull and gets excited when meeting other dogs. She is crate-trained and relationship-motivated but is willing to work for treats.

She has a high prey drive and is very reactive to cats, ground animals, and birds. She is currently living with 2 cats, which are kept on a separate level. I believe she was originally purchased from Puppy Land in Meridian Idaho but am not certain. She is very smart and wants to be a part of the pack! She loves belly rubs, watching out the window, and occasionally has stories to tell but overall she is not vocal like huskies and doesn't bark very often. She isn't a digger or an escape artists. She wants to be with her people and would sit on laps if allowed. She was trained to stay off furniture but we have relaxed that rule with her in our home.

Everest is a gorgeous girl and this decision to rehome her is not an easy one for her family to make. If you are interested in fostering to adopt Everest, please fill out an application on our website: https://www.akkrescue.com/rescue-forms.html .

Happy New Year to everyone from AKKNR.

Going into the New Year we are looking to expand our awareness and reach across the Country for this wonderful breed. The Alaskan Klee Kai has brought so much happiness to those of us who own them. This special breed has grown so much over the years and it has been a joy to watch and see how they interact with all of us.

That being said, sometimes these sweet dogs are abandoned or need to be rehomed due to no fault of their own. It is our wonderful Volunteers who assist us in finding these Klee Kai fosters, get them the medical assistance they need, and help with finding them their forever home. Please Join us in spreading more information about the Klee Kai by becoming a volunteer or Regional Coordinator.

We have openings for Regional Coordinator Positions, if you are interested please email us at [email protected]

Maverick wants a home for Christmas!

Maverick is currently located in a shelter in Eau Clair, WI, where he found himself after his owner's death. We have yet to be able to find him a foster. With only a handful of days until Christmas, this sweet, happy boy is wondering isn't there anyone out there for him? Maverick is 8 years old and said to get along with other dogs and did fine with the owner's grandchildren that were 8 and 10 years old (cats unknown). Please message if you can foster this older gentleman (or ideally, foster to adopt!)
