Judge is now qualified for 2026 Master Nationals! Way to go Northfork Retrievers!

GRHRCH Sycamore’s American Muscle MH MNR picked up another AKC Master pass this weekend with Cody Gray and the team at North Fork Retrievers. Scott just informed me that this pass secures this year’s Master National qualification and keeps him moving forward on his Dual Hall of Fame path.

Proud of this dog and grateful for the people behind him. Every ribbon represents work.

There are moments in a program where preparation meets opportunity.

Today was one of those days for Babe.
She handled it exactly as expected — composed, steady, and all heart. The same traits that define her in the field and at home are the reason she holds an important place in what we’re building at Sycamore Kennels.

This is a breeding we’ve been intentional about from the beginning.

We’re appreciative of the team at Animal Clinic Northview and Connor Cashman for their professionalism and precision. When you put the right dogs with the right people, you give yourself the best chance to move a program forward.
Now we wait.

Programs aren’t built on chance — they’re built on decisions, standards, and a clear vision of the kind of Labrador you’re committed to producing.

Couldn’t ask for a better way to start the year.
Judge picked up a Master pass at his first test of 2026. Always proud of how this dog carries himself—calm, focused, and all business when it matters.

Our history here summed up for those that follow us.

There are certain Stud Dogs that stick with you. For me, that dog was Copper (FC AFC CFC Money Talks II).

I followed him for a long time I followed him for years. Always thinking if I ever got the chance with the perfect Dam, that’s the type of dog I wanted under my gun.

That led me to Danielle at BlackFoot Retrievers… and to a litter I originally reserved a female from. The coolest girl ever…Penny

However, when the time came to breed Penny, fate had other plans. Copper wasn’t available when Penny came into heat—but his Son Ticket was was.

All males were born.

That’s how I ended up with my soulmate dog Coupe.
And if you’ve ever had one of those dogs—the kind you call your once-in-a-lifetime dog—you understand what came next.

I built from there. I took my female Rox (From the other coolest BlackFoot girl ever Cappy and crossed her on FC AFC Pinoak’s Texas Rex, one of Coupe’s Grandsires… and that gave me Babe.

Now here we are. Full circle. The one I’ve ALWAYS wanted…a pup off of Copper bred to the COOLEST dog ever. Babe!

Breeding Babe back to the other side of that same foundation—to the dog that started it all for me—
Copper. This isn’t random. This isn’t paper chasing.

This is years of watching, learning, and building toward a very specific type of dog:

Trainable. Consistent. Biddable under pressure.
And still one you can live with every day.

FC AFC CFC Copper x HRCH Babe MH Update!

For those of you with reservations or considering inquiring Babe is 55.2 pounds of solid muscle and 21.5". This is her in tip top working condition. The vet was thrilled by her condition, build, coat and overall proportions. Progesterone was baseline and well pull it again Monday.

Here are the AKC Breed Standards for females. Size and Proportion are as such,
Height at the withers: Females 21.5–23.5 inches, with a tolerance of ±0.5 inch.

Weight: Females 55–70 pounds in working condition.
