As many of you know, Oscar’s Pet Sitting is a one-person operation, and I truly wouldn’t have it any other way. I love caring for your pets and am incredibly grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me over the years.
Because I’m the only employee, my workdays often start around 5:30 a.m. and don’t end until well into the evening. While I may not be actively working every minute of every day, I am working every single day. Unlike many traditional jobs, I don’t receive PTO, paid vacation days, or sick time, so any time away from work is something I have to plan carefully and make sacrifices for.
In fact, after a recent car accident, I’ve been trying to juggle vehicle repairs and therapy appointments while continuing to care for my clients’ pets every day. Most of the time, those things are squeezed in between visits, making my days even longer and more difficult to plan than usual.
With all that said, this is a reminder that I’ll be COMPLETELY UNAVAILABLE from June 26 through July 5 while I’m away. During that time, I won’t be responding to calls, text or booking requests. If you think you’ll need anything before then, now is the perfect time to reach out.
And while we’re on the subject of planning ahead, it is officially hurricane season. Heavy rain and storms can sometimes impact visit timing. I carefully monitor the radar and may occasionally adjust visit schedules so pets can still get outside and I can travel safely between clients. Please make sure you have a backup plan, such as a trusted neighbor, in case severe weather creates unexpected challenges.
I’m not sharing any of this as a complaint…quite the opposite. I genuinely love what I do and feel incredibly fortunate to spend my days caring for such wonderful pets and working with such amazing clients.
I simply ask for a little grace when it comes to response times and expectations. Your patience, understanding, and support mean more than you know, and they help make it possible for me to continue providing the level of care your pets deserve.
Thank you, as always, for supporting my small business
