🗣Casper update!!!
Caspers quarantine time has passed and he got to hang out at the office today so we could get to know him better. 🥰
His tests were all negative! 🎉 No heartworms. No f***l parasites. No tickborne illnesses. He does have an eye infection/issue going on that multiple rounds of antibiotics and injections has not solved, so he will likely be referred to a specialist for further testing for his eyes.
What we know so far:
He's shy but sweet and eager to please. He listens to corrections very well. He will do ANYTHING for food. He already knows many commands like sit, speak and shake paws (someone, somewhere, must have loved him and taught him - before his fate landed him in the woods 🥺). He appears to be completely housebroken, he hasn't had any accidents at all visiting the office today. Despite playing hard to get in the woods, he is very needy and hates to be left alone. He isn't horrible with other dogs, but he needs some work.
We would LOVE to find a foster family to transition him into so he doesn't have to spend the holidays in the kennel at the vet. 🙏🙏🙏 He would need a foster with no other dogs (or someone very experienced with separating and intros hat can separate him and work with us on slow intros, he does have potential!). He would also do best in a home with no small/rowdy children as he is still a little spooky sometimes. East Orlando or Seminole County area preferred so he can easily go to his vet and training appointments in the area.
If you're possibly able to foster Casper, please reach out! 🙏 Please share our boy - let's find him a foster for the holidays.
