Join West End Shelter for Animals this June for our low-cost walk-up vaccination clinics! We’re here to help keep your pets healthy with affordable vaccination and wellness services for dogs and cats.

We’re also excited to share that our updated vaccination services begin this month, including the addition of the Lepto vaccine for dogs in accordance with current veterinary guidelines.

Clinic Rules:
• Dogs must be leashed or carried
• Cats must be in carriers
• Pets must be handled by an adult 18+
• Cash only
• First-come, first-served — no appointments

📣 Vaccination Service Updates Beginning June 1, 2026 🐾

West End Shelter for Animals is updating its vaccination services beginning June 1, 2026 to better serve our community and keep pets healthy and protected.

What’s new?
• Leptospirosis (L4) vaccination will now be available for dogs in accordance with updated AAHA guidelines recognizing it as a core vaccine.
• Deworming services have been updated to better reflect the treatments offered, along with adjusted pricing.

We’re also introducing West End Recommended Vaccinations on our website — a simple guide designed to help pet owners better understand which vaccines their pets may need and how those services are available through WESA.

As veterinary medicine continues to evolve, we’re committed to growing with it while continuing to offer affordable, accessible care for our community’s pets.

🐾 Meet Sparkle! 🐾

Sparkle is a beautiful Tabby & White kitty who is about 1 year old—and she truly lives up to her name. She is the sweetest little thing ever.

Watch the video all the way to the end for a surprise!

When you first meet Sparkle, she can be a little shy and likes to take a moment to see what’s going on around her. But once you give her a few gentle scratches, she opens right up into the most loving cuddle bug with so much affection to give.

Sparkle would make the perfect companion for the right family. She would do best in a quieter home, as fast movements and loud noises can make her nervous, so a home without young children would be best for her. She’s never been around dogs before, so we’re unsure how she would feel about them.

Sparkle originally came to us from someone’s backyard, and now she’s hoping her next stop is a forever home of her own.

🐾 Meet Maggie! 🐾

Maggie is a sweet French Bulldog/Pug mix with the most beautiful smile. We’re estimating she’s around 4–5 years old, as she was sadly left here by her previous owners with no information at all.

Poor Maggie was left behind like she was nothing—but we made sure she got everything she needed. Now she’s healthy, cared for, and ready for a fresh start.

Kitten season is in full swing and we currently have lots of kittens in our care! With so many little mouths to feed, our supply of canned wet cat food is running a little low.

If you’d like to help, we would be so grateful for your support. Donations can be sent directly to the shelter through our Chewy Wish List from the comfort of your home, or you’re always welcome to drop off donations during business hours.

🚨 New Vaccination Service Beginning June 1st! 🚨

West End Shelter for Animals is excited to announce that we will officially begin offering the Leptospirosis (Lepto) vaccination in accordance with current AAHA guidelines. 🐶💉

Lepto is a serious bacterial disease that can affect both dogs and humans, making prevention especially important for your pets and your family. Our goal is to continue expanding our services to help keep the pets in our community healthy and safe.

Meet Moon!

Looking for an active best friend? Moon may be the perfect match.

Moon is a 1-year-old Shepherd/Doberman mix with a fun-loving personality and lots of energy to share. He loves meeting new people, gets along well with other dogs, and is always ready for his next adventure.

This handsome guy already knows “sit,” is housebroken, and crate-trained. He enjoys trips to the dog park and is very treat-motivated, which should make leash training a fun and rewarding next step. Moon has not been around cats before, so a cat-free home may be best.

Moon was surrendered through no fault of his own after his previous owner’s family developed allergies and could no longer keep him.
