Please help us welcome Dr. Rachel Chall to the Murlen team! 🎉🎉 Her first day will be Monday, July 28th!

Dr. Rachel Chall is a dedicated veterinarian specializing in small animal general practice. With her years of experience in the field, she has built a reputation for her compassionate care and commitment to the well-being of pets. Dr. Chall earned her veterinary degree from Kansas State University, where she also pursued a Master's in Public Health with an emphasis in infectious disease and zoonosis, enhancing her expertise in animal and public health intersections. Dr. Chall especially enjoys helping pets with anxiety, allergies and chronic conditions.

Dr. Chall grew up in Overland Park and was involved in 4-H throughout her childhood. Following veterinary school she moved to Southeast Missouri to practice for several years before moving back to the area recently.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Chall enjoys gardening, refurbishing furniture, and spending quality time with her family and pets, bringing the same nurturing spirit to her personal life as she does to her veterinary practice.

Important Update for Our Murlen Animal Clinic Clients

After many years of dedicated service to the Olathe community, Dr. Thompson has made the decision to retire. We are deeply grateful for the decades of compassionate care he provided to pets and their families, and we recognize the lasting impact he made throughout our community.

We respect his decision and sincerely wish him the best in his retirement. We understand that this news may come as a surprise, and we appreciate your kindness, understanding, and patience as we transition.

Dr. Jennifer McDermott and our entire team remains committed to providing the highest standard of care, just as you and your pets have come to expect.

Please help us welcome Dr. Jennifer McDermott to the Murlen team! 🎉🎉

Dr. Jennifer McDermott is a dedicated veterinarian at Murlen Animal Clinic, bringing years of experience and a passion for high-quality pet care. She earned both her undergraduate and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degrees from Iowa State University, graduating in 1996. Licensed in both Kansas and Missouri, Dr. McDermott has a special interest in dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and preventative care. She has also received advanced training in bonded sealants and enamel restorations, further enhancing her expertise in veterinary dentistry.

Originally from Cherokee, IA, Dr. McDermott enjoys spending her free time reading, watching true crime, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, boating, and crafting. She also loves spending time with her husband and their three children.
