We are a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to saving animals lives in Oklahoma as well as assisting the public with spay & neuter

Meet Ernie! 🐕

He’s that soul dog type 😇. The one that finds his human and is loyal to a tee. That’s there for them through anything and everything.

Ernie has been let down not once, not twice, but AT LEAST 3 times in his short lil life 😭.

🐾This boy wants nothing but to please his people. He is dog, cat and kid friendly. Potty and kennel trained. He knows several commands: sit, stay, up, down, leave it, potty, come, and bed. He is AMAZING in public and at home. Very smart and extreme treat motivated (although he acts like he’s starving sometimes but his hips don’t lie, 😂 he’s not) Ernie plays dress up and is always down to hang with his people whether it be for movie night or a night out on the town. Bonus is that he literally has that fur that you pet and all your worries go away 🥰

Ernie THRIVES off training and would excel in a home that would continue teaching him more.

Meet Mac & Cheese! 🧀

These two adorable pups just landed in our care, and while we’re still searching for a foster for their sweet mama (who’s sadly still living outside in an apartment complex), today is all about these little wiggle butts.

Mac and Cheese had their first vet visit today—and while they were champs, we did get some news. Both pups have coccidia, a pesky parasite that’s common in young dogs. Thankfully, it’s treatable, but we could really use your help covering their medical care ❤️‍🩹 Today’s bill alone was $203.51

You might remember Indy — Momma Ruby’s waving pup. From being born as a stray abandoned in a park to spoiled and adored — we are happy to report this girl is now thriving with her very own forever family!

And just for fun… check out her DNA results her family shared with us! We weren’t surprised she’s got so much hound dog in her, but the Dalmatian? That one caught us off guard!

…and it hits close to home for us.

Every day, dogs go missing—slipping out of yards, getting spooked by storms 🌩️ or fireworks 🎆, or wandering too far from home 🏡. Some are reunited. But far too many end up in shelters, or worse… never make it back at all.

Here’s how you can help keep dogs safe and get them home faster:

✔️ A collar with an ID tag are essential 🏷️. OKC Animal Welfare offers FREE personalized tags for all your pets.

✔️ Secure fences and gates—and don’t leave dogs unattended 🚪
✔️ Report found dogs quickly to local shelters and post on lost pet sites 🖥️

our sweet, silly girl Nelly! 🐾💕

She’s been with us for a little while, quietly waiting for her perfect people to come along—and we think it’s time the world gets to know her!

Penelope’s journey to us wasn’t easy. After months of bouncing from person to person and place to place, she and her brother finally landed somewhere safe—with us. Her brother is still in our care too, but today, it’s all about Nelly.

She’s a big ol’ bundle of love who adores toys, belly rubs, and being with her people. She’s got the goofiest personality and the sweetest heart. She loves kids, loves to play, and is always down for snuggles.

Penelope is fully vetted, current on all vaccines and preventives, and officially available for adoption!

Its time for a ✨Happy Tail✨
And Second time’s a charm for sweet Vega! The perfect pittie princess!

Vega was originally adopted but heartbreakingly returned just 11 days later—through absolutely no fault of her own. But this resilient girl didn’t let it dim her light.

After spending just a couple of weeks in loving foster care, Vega found her real happily ever after!

She now has a new fur brother, a human sister, and two incredible parents who absolutely adore her.

‼️ URGENT FOSTER NEEDED ‼️
We just welcomed two of this sweet mama’s puppies into rescue—but she’s STILL out there, alone.

A few months ago, she dug a hole in the dirt behind an apartment complex and gave birth to 11 puppies. She did everything she could to keep them safe. Most have found homes, and when we heard her story, we brought the last few to safety this week.

Now it’s HER turn.

She’s still living on the streets—sweet, gentle, and loving, just waiting for someone to give her a chance. She’s wonderful with people and other dogs. She deserves so much more than another lonely night outside… or another litter she shouldn’t have to raise alone.

We need to get her safe NOW, but can’t do it without a foster!
She’s done everything for her babies—it’s time for her to rest, to heal, and to finally be loved.

🌼 Daisy Update
Our girl Daisy is doing well and continuing to heal, but she’s headed back to the vet this week for another recheck and bandage change to make sure everything’s staying on track ❤️‍🩹

So far, we’ve only received about $15 toward her care, and her vet bill is currently at $1,659. It’s $2 Tuesday—if you can skip the 🌮 tacos today and send a couple bucks Daisy’s way, we’d be incredibly grateful, or share her post for us 🙏🏻

🐾Sweet boy Bruno would like to wish you all a Happy Easter!
Bruno wandered his way into a pet supply store a few months back with no owners in sight ☹️. Lucky for him we gained a new foster mom to the WOF pack that took him in after he had been on his two week quarantine with one of our other fosters. Bruno had a ruff go at things after joining the pack❤️‍🩹. He ended up at the emergency vet where he was diagnosed with prostatic hyperplasia 🙀that required him to get neutered stat! Bruno is a little bit of an older guy and with him not being neutered it caused his prostate to become enlarged 🫣. He also had 2 liters of urine removed at the same time.

👑Despite all his hurdles he is the sweetest guy that just wants to cuddle with you and be loved and adored. Bruno is ready to find his soulmate!He will give you all the love you need with his whole heart.❤️

Sweet Daisy did AMAZING Monday during her leg amputation 🙌🏻 She got to go home to her foster parents Tuesday and has been her sweet bouncy self 🥰 She’s headed to the vet today for tube removal and bandage changes 🐾

It’s amazing how going from 4 legs to 3 doesn’t slow pups down, in fact usually it’s the opposite and they don’t have an extra limb slowing them down 🤪 We officially have 3 pups in the rescue that are tripods and they are THE BEST dogs! 😍 Thinking we need a Tripod Pawty for them soon, what do you all think? 🥳🥳

Sophie has been through more than any dog ever should. Overbred, her ears cruelly cut, and denied even the most basic vet care, she developed heartworms before ending up in an overcrowded shelter. With no space left, she was placed on the euthanasia list. But just in time, a shelter foster stepped in and saved her life. In her foster home, Sophie began to heal—physically and emotionally. She learned what love felt like. And when she was adopted, everyone celebrated, thinking it was finally her happy ending.

But just 8 months later, Sophie was found abandoned in a park 💔 Her microchip traced back to her adopters. Their response when contacted? They didn’t want her. Another heartbreak. Another person who left her behind. And yet—Sophie still loves. She is gentle, affectionate, and endlessly forgiving. She gives big tail wags, full-body hugs, and leans into every kind touch. Back with her original foster and now under the care of the We’re OK Foundation, Sophie is safe. But her journey isn’t over. During a recent vet visit, multiple masses were found that urgently need to be removed and tested. We’re raising $800 to cover her surgery that she goes in for tomorrow!
