Suncoast Stables is an equestrian barn that strives for a safe and fun environment. Owner/Trainer Krystle Lee earned her Bachelors of Equestrian Science from William Woods University and is an active member of ARIA, CHA, USEF, UPHA, and ASHA. Krystle has created a unique and supportive environment for clients, and emphasizes the respect and responsibility required of a successful horse and owner.

Tiny Tots Disney Day 2!

Our day started with camp games in the round pen, and then brushing/tacking our 4 lesson horses!

We split into 2 groups; in the riding arena we got to ride either Tye, Erec, Akeelah or Fortune! We got to work on our posting trot!!

When we weren't riding we had craft time! We got to decorate our own wooden door hanger with Disney themed ribbons and charms!

After both groups got to ride, every camper helped untack and hose off the amazing lesson horses! We finished our day with snack in the shade!

Regular Camp Disney Week!

We started our morning playing camp games in the round pen and then split off into pairs to groom some of the show horses and clean their stalls!

After lunch we groomed & tacked Akeelah, Siri, Elizabeth, Ribbons and Carrington to ride!

We rode in two groups; while in the arena our riders with previous riding refreshed their skills by playing "Red Light, Green Light"!
Our first time riders learned the basics of steering their horse and guiding around the rail. We also learned and worked on our "jockey" exercise!
When it was not our time to ride we got to finger paint either Cookie or Marina and then give them a bubble bath!
The camp day went by too fast and we finished up by hosing off our horses and cleaning up tack from our rides!

We can't wait for trotting tomorrow!

Monday means a new group of Campers!!

Week 3: Disney Tiny Tots!

We played games in the round pen while campers got checked in! We went over farm rules and took a tour!

We got to brush and tack Tye, Erec and Akeelah to ride!
After the horses were ready we spilt into 3 groups for our activity rotations!

In the riding rotation we learned how to properly mount our horse and sit in the saddle. We worked on woah, walk, left and right steering!

For our Craft Rotation we got to finger paint the horse Goose with non toxic washable kids paint!

And our final rotation was a farm wide scavenger hunt to count the horses and find our 2 Disney Princess Horses! We might have even found a Hei Hei along the way!

Tiny tots wrapped up their jam packed morning with a snack in the shade!
We can't wait for tomorrow!

We are wrapped up and heading home from a wonderful week at the Shenandoah Classic horse show! The weather was beautiful, the competition was incredible, and the hospitality can not be beat at this show and we will definitely be back!

Intermediate Camp Day 4!

We started our day with camp games! Next we were all assigned our own horse to catch, groom, tack and ride!

We rode in a big group again! We worked on rail work, passing, trot-ins, line ups and the pattern for the show tomorrow!
After riding we gave our horse a bubble bath and cleaned up.
After a long lunch we each were assigned a stall to clean while jamming out to some camp music! We fed the whole farm grain and chilled out in the shade to finish our day!

Intermediate Camp Day 3!

We started our morning in pairs to catch, groom and tack our riding horses!

In the riding arena we got a personalized lunge lesson with one of our counselors!
We worked on trotting with no hands ("airplane, Frankenstein, cheerleader"), trotting with no stirrups and some kids got to work on their cantering!

When we were riding, we had a couple options for craft time!
Then we had Kona Ice and Lunch!

After lunch, we clipped our lesson horse bridle paths, turned them out and cleaned up.
We had some organized "free time", where we got to pick from several activities; like brushing the donkeys!
We ended our day by feeding the farm grain and brushing horses for lessons!

We can't wait for another fun filled day tomorrow!

Suncoast Stables is off to a great start on night one at the Beautiful Shenandoah horse show!

Lilyana Denison and Sugar Plum Fairy had a fantastic ride and were top three in a very strong Walk-Trot Pleasure class!

Mary Howard and Our Northern Lights NKF came out strong and were Reserve Champions in their 5-Gaited Jr Exhibitor class last night!

Looking forward to night two and tonight’s classes!

Intermediate Camp Day 2!

Today each camper got their very own horse from start to finish!
They were in charge of catching their horse from the pasture, grooming, tacking, riding, giving it a bubble bath and cleaning their tack!
We rode in a huge group for an hour in our outdoor arena! The counselors played judges and we did two walk/trot classes!
The kids who canter in lessons got to work on that a little at the end!

After lunch we cleaned stalls, tack and fed the farm grain!
