Meet Franklin, our clinic kitty here at Happy Tails! 🧡🐾

He’s definitely a staff favorite — always looking for a cozy spot (usually on one of our techs!) to curl up between appointments. Franklin takes his job as our emotional support kitty very seriously, and we honestly don’t know what we’d do without him.

There’s just something about orange cats… they really are some of the sweetest, most loving little creatures. Franklin proves that every single day. 😻

Meet Domino, the Maine C**n heartthrob who strutted into the clinic today for a nail trim—and left with all our hearts. 💅💖

He’s 90% fluff, 10% sass, and 100% cuddle monster. 🐾
Domino made zero fuss and maximum biscuit-making while getting pampered. We’re obsessed. 😍

At a majestic 21 years old, Lauren is the queen of our clinic — and she knows it. Don’t let her sweet little face fool you… she’s got opinions, and she’s not afraid to share them (usually with a glare or a swat).

She’s been with us longer than some of our staff and has earned the right to be just a little bit cranky. Whether she's judging us from her perch or stealing chairs to nap on, Lauren continues to keep everyone in line — with attitude, sass, and the occasional growl.

💫 Did you know we have an Angel Fund? 💫
At our clinic, we believe that every pet deserves access to quality veterinary care — even when finances are a challenge. That’s why we created the Angel Fund, a donation-based program that helps cover the cost of essential medical care for pets in need, when their families are unable to afford it.

This fund is made possible by the generosity of our community — and we are always accepting donations. Every dollar goes directly toward helping animals receive life-saving or urgently needed care.

🕊 How it Works:
To ensure the fund helps those most in need, we have a few guidelines:
- Pets must have a treatable condition with a good prognosis
- Owners must complete a financial assistance application
- Funds are used only when no other financial options are available (we do require proof of a declined credit application)
- The angel fund can only be enacted when the exam fee has been paid in full first
- Usage is at the discretion of our veterinary team, based on need and availability of funds

If you would like to become a Happy Tails Angel and donate towards the Angel Fund, doing so is easy and can be taken by any of our technicians at any time.

🚨 Tick Season Reminder 🚨

Meet Walker! 🐾 This sweet pup came in this morning for an admissions appointment, and his owners were concerned about ticks. Sure enough, we found quite a few on him — but thanks to Credelio Quattro, by the time he went home that afternoon, the ticks were already falling off. 🙌

Ticks aren’t just a nuisance — they can transmit serious diseases like Lyme disease, Ehrlichiosis, and Anaplasmosis. Early prevention is key to protecting your dog’s health. Credelio Quattro is a monthly chew that works fast, killing ticks quickly and helping prevent tick-borne illnesses.

We’re sharing Walker’s story (with permission!) as a reminder of how quickly ticks can be dealt with when you act early — and how important it is to stay ahead of them, especially in warmer months.

We know how stressful admissions visits can be, for both pets and their people. Please know that when you entrust your pet to us, they’re treated like one of our own. Our team is full of compassionate professionals who love what they do — and love your pets just as much.

🩺💨 Why We Pre-Oxygenate Before Surgery – And Why It Matters for Your Pet! 🐶🐱

Before your pet undergoes anesthesia, one of the most important steps we take is pre-oxygenation—giving them pure oxygen for a few minutes before induction. But why is this so important?

✅ Improves safety: Pre-oxygenation helps fill your pet’s lungs with oxygen, giving us a buffer if breathing slows during the start of anesthesia.
✅ Protects vital organs: More oxygen in the bloodstream means better support for the brain, heart, and other organs.
✅ Especially helpful for senior or brachycephalic (flat-faced) pets: These pets may be more prone to airway issues, and pre-oxygenation helps give them a head start.
