Meet Dawn. She was found scared, scuffed, burned and broken on someone’s outside deck. As her wounds healed (she had to have her broken tail amputated), she learned to settle into her new surroundings, getting along with most of the other cats. She is still a little skittish, but can easily be bribed with any special treat, especially cheddar popcorn. She comes for her own lap time in the evening when things in the house quiet down. She loves playing on her own, with the other cats and with the laser light. She has recently become quite close with Xerox a young adult kitty her in foster home, snuggling with him often. Do you have room in your home and heart to adopt them together? They are both currently at the adoption center at the Salisbury PetSmart. We have our booth set up at the Artisan Show at the Ocean City Convention Center and we are ready to raise some money to help our furry friends. We have a large selection of Halloween costumes for your pet. We also have quite the selection of fall/Thanksgiving themed paper products that are very reasonably priced. Of course we have tables full of cat and dog accessories as well as our handmade jewelry, fabric tote bags and crocheted tea towels. Come on out to say hi. Combine your visit with a trip to the inlet for the Sunfest event.

UPDATE: SQUEAKER WENT TO A WONDERFUL HOME!
My name is Squeaker, and I am deeply heartbroken. My human mom, who loved me more than anything in the world, passed away recently. She took really good care of me, so I am neutered and up-to-date on shots. I even had a dental in June! I am now at the Petsmart adoption center in Salisbury, hoping for someone who can help me heal. Would you like to visit me and show me some love? If you like me, maybe you can take me home with you. Whether or not you can adopt me, you can help me by comforting me a little bit.

UPDATE:MARVIN HAS BEEN ADOPTED. HE WENT TO A GREAT HOME WITH ANOTHER FOSTER KITTY THAT HE KNEW.
Meet MARVIN. This handsome, social fellow has been in DCC care for over a year. He showed up at someone's country home doorstep as a kitten, starving, skinny and covered in ticks. He has a super loud purr and loves to be pet, but gets a little anxious if he is held too tightly. He gets along well with all his foster siblings. He loves to play with toys, especially the wand and laser light. Marvin often sounds like he is snoring. He has been to the vet multiple times to address the issue but nothing has resolved it. Blood tests and x-rays did not show any issues. He is currently at the adoption center at the Salisbury PetSmart. Please consider giving Marvin the loving home that he deserves. Come out and join us at Snow Hill's Annual Craft Fair, Oct 17 from 10am-2pm at the SH Firehouse located at 4718 Snow Hill Rd, Snow Hill. Admission is free. Food and drinks are available for purchase. You can even get a free flu shot. We will have loads of handmade items and jewelry for sale. Every dollar we take in goes towards the care of the kitties in our system. Come by our table and say "hi". We hope to see you there.

Meet GRAYSON. This handsome guy was returned a few months after adoption because we were told that he was too rambunctious and not a good fit with the older cat in the household. Since being back in his foster home, this shy guy has been very laid back, often hiding under his blanket. He has been patiently putting up with a little rough play from a younger foster, Damon (Yes, there is sound with the video. They are just playing quietly, no growls.) He loves to play with a laser light and plastic springs. Originally, he and his two brothers were found outside with their stray momma by an older woman. His brothers have already been adopted and now Grayson is looking for his own forever home to get all the attention and love he deserves. He would be good in a quiet household.

Your DCC volunteers had a successful evening at the most recent Third Friday event. But there is no rest for us. We are gearing up for a busy October. Our next event is the Snow Hill Craft Show on Oct 17 from 10-2 at the SH Firehouse. Then PetSmart Charities' National Adoption Week starts on Oct 19. We will have extra kitties on hand at the Salisbury store. As the adoption week nears it's end, we will then be participating in the Home & Artisan Expo at the OC Convention Center on Oct 23, 24 & 25, from 10-4. Come do some early holiday shopping while helping to support our goal of No More Homeless Cats.
