💙 $5 FRIDAY | EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS 💙

It's been a rough week here at Kahu. Between my son and I spending time in the hospital, trying to manage everything at home, and still making sure every dog is cared for, it's been a lot.

But rescue doesn't stop when life gets difficult. The dogs still need to eat, their kennels still need cleaning, medications still need to be given, and the everyday expenses don't take a break.

So we're asking for a little help this Friday.

We're not asking anyone to make a huge donation. Just $5. Five dollars from a few people can add up to something meaningful for the dogs in our care.

Donations this week will help with:
🐾 Food and everyday supplies
🐾 Cleaning and sanitation supplies
🐾 Medications and routine care
🐾 Gas for transportation and vet appointments
🐾 Ongoing medical needs for our rescue dogs

If you can't donate, sharing this post helps more than you know.

Every dollar stays with the rescue and goes toward the animals we're responsible for.

Thank you to everyone who continues to show up for Kahu, especially during the harder weeks. We appreciate you more than you know.

One of our adopters contacted us today with sad news. Baby passed away. When she came to us she was hairless and needed much love. And we found the perfect adopters and they drove all the way down from Georgia to get her.
They gave her so much love and TLC and she knew the best life while she was with them.
Please keep her family in your prayers.

Hank is doing AMAZING in his new home. He's enjoying cuddles with his mom and dad and naps with his new sister. And he's earned a new name- Skippy ❤️ from the streets to a penthouse suite 🐾
And it's always amazing to get compliments like this. I work so hard with all our animals to make sure they are healthy, happy and safe.

I've never been so excited to make a Happy Tails post-
HAPPY TAILS HANK!! He's been with us since June recovering from scabies and gaining confidence. Today he found his forever home and a new friend!!!
This is what makes rescue worth it.

Meet our newest Kahu K9 guest!
This beautiful boy was pulled from MCAS- he was a stray never claimed like many others.
We haven't found the perfect name for this guy yet- but he's amazing. Great with kids!! A little bit of pull on the leash but nothing that can't be corrected.
He's neutered- UTD on shots and preventions. He's around 60lbs he's a short beefy guy 🤣 has been non reactive to the other dogs.

One out and one in I guess.....
meet Jasper he's a Boston terrier possibly frenchie mix. And he's probably the calmest one I've ever met. He's around a year and a half old.
He's a transfer from MCAS and will be available after his neuter on October 15th!

🐾 WE NEED OUR VILLAGE 🐾
Right now, Kahu K-9 Rescue has 12 dogs in our care, and while we are incredibly grateful to be able to give them a safe place to land, we also need to be honest about where we're at.
Our rescue account is currently empty, and we have several needs coming up.
🦷 Fancy needs a dental for a broken canine tooth.
🩺 Our dogs need routine and unexpected veterinary care.
🐾 Food, preventatives, medications, cleaning supplies, bedding and other everyday necessities don't stop.
⛽ And we continue helping animals in our local homeless camps whenever we're able.
But there's something else we desperately need:
HOMES. ❤️
Every dog adopted means we have the ability to say yes to another animal who needs us.
We currently have long-term residents who have been waiting for their families for far too long. Some have been with us for close to a year. They deserve to experience what it feels like to finally have a home of their own.
So today, we're asking our village for three things:
🐕 ADOPT — If you've been thinking about adding a dog to your family, take a look at our available dogs. Your adoption could literally make room for us to save another life.
💙 DONATE — Whether it's $5, $20, a bag of food, or helping with a veterinary expense, every bit makes a difference. Our rescue account is empty, and our dogs still need us.
💙 PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/ARosa9678
💚 Venmo: https://venmo.com/u/KahuK9
📱 Zelle & Apple Pay: (352) 659-0048

📲 SHARE — This one costs absolutely nothing. Share our dogs. Share our posts. Tag someone who might be looking for their next best friend. You never know which share puts the right dog in front of the right person.
We didn't start Kahu K-9 Rescue because we thought it would be easy. We started because animals in our community needed someone willing to stand up for them.
And we're still here.
But we can't do it alone.
Help us get these dogs home so we can open our doors to the next animal who needs a chance. ❤️
Donate. Adopt. Share. Advocate.
Every one of those things helps us continue the mission.
