Holt County Animal Shelter We're a small dog shelter in North Central Nebraska. The Holt County Animal Shelter is a private, non-profit organization. We serve Holt County Nebraska.

If you are missing your dog, contact the O'Neill Police Dept. We do house the dogs they impound. Through the generosity of our community, we have a well outfitted building. We strive to provide the best care for the dogs who end up in our facility. Staff:

From happy smiles and goofy cuddles to gentle puppy kisses, these dogs have so much love to give. Every tail wag, paw on the gate, and excited greeting is their way of saying, “Please notice me.”

Shelter dogs don’t care about perfect homes or fancy things — they just want love, patience, and a family to call their own. Until then, we’ll keep giving them all the belly rubs, treats, and attention they deserve. 🩷

Today we had a group of volunteers from OHS come out and help up clean up and do some repairs around the shelter. We got a lot of work done, and the dogs got lots of much needed attention!
