🦌 Shook’s Taxidermy — 2026 Update 🐟
I wanted to give everyone a quick update going into the upcoming season.
Over the past few years, I’ve been fortunate enough to have more work than I could keep up with. I’m currently sitting at around 85 jobs before the season even starts, and while I’m extremely grateful for that, I’ve decided it’s time to make some changes.
My goal is to get my overall workload down to under a year so I can get your mounts back to you in a more reasonable amount of time while still giving every mount the time and attention to detail it deserves.
Because of that, this year I’ll be limiting what I take in and primarily focusing on deer and fish. I’m not closing my books, and I absolutely still want your business—I just need to keep the number of incoming jobs at a manageable level.
There will also be some pricing changes going forward. I’ve never tried to be the cheapest option, and I don’t plan on starting now. I focus on providing well above commercial-quality work, taking the extra time to get the details right, and going above and beyond for my customers.
I’d rather take in a little less and maintain the quality and turnaround time you expect from Shook’s Taxidermy than take on more work than I can properly handle.
