🌟Over the course of the last five weeks, we have had several great opportunities to support local shows in our area. June 28th the newly formed Northeast Multi-State Dressage Show held their first event at the Tack Shack in Fremont. Karen Wilson and Idola B showed their support and rode their PSG test to get more practice in the competition arena. This addition to the show calendar is very welcomed seeing as we have been so limited on rated shows in NH these past several years.

🌟July 16-18th Life's a Ride in S**o, ME put on their three day show and continue to outdo themselves each year with the improvements they make to the venue and show experience. Karen and Idola rode two more PSG tests and Vickie and De La Vie Bang also headed to Maine for their third level tests. Vickie and Vie had a very impressive uphill swing over the course of the three days, starting with a 65.811% at 3-1, to a 72% at 3-3, to an impressive 75.375% at 3-3 on Saturday. It is nice to see a horse steadily get their bearings over a show weekend and continue to improve each ride, well done Vickie and Vie!

🌟Today SMDA (Southern Maine Dressage Association) held their annual show in Hollis, ME where Wendy Payne and Olivia DDD dusted off their boots for their first show of the 2026 season! Wendy and Olivia won their second level test three class with a 68.214%!! The pair has been looking great and all of their hard work this summer shined through today. Congratulations Wendy!

The months of June and July have flown like usual as we enter August 1st! Despite our lack of show posts, many of the Longfellow ladies have been working hard daily and have been stepping out of their comfort zones and excelling in the show arena!

🥇GMHA June was the first show for the New England crew and it was wonderful to be in beautiful Vermont once again. Vickie Kahn-Sinclair and De La Vie Bang continued their 2026 season at third level, riding a 3-1 and two 3-3 test. The pair came home with three 1st place ribbons with scores up to 70.063%! It was a hot weekend and Vie did a wonderful job being brave in the dust bowl and ring 1, earning Third Level High Point AA of the weekend!

🐴Abigail White and Friendship continued their 2026 season at 4-3 and had very successful rides each day. Freddie gained a lot of confidence at this show and had such a mature and composed attitude in the arena. Abby and Freddie earned a very respectable 63.194%, 65.278%, and 64.861% for the weekend! Congratulations to you both, well done!

🦄Karen Wilson and Idola B continued their journey into the FEI ring together and did a wonderful job navigating the demands of the PSG test! This pair scored a 59.191% on their first day, but did a wonderful job and made some changes for day two and finished with a 60.956%! Well done Karen and Idola, your hard work shined through that weekend!!

🏆Adding to the fun of the Longfellow family, Emma Batchelder and her young horse Gretzky SD joined us for Gretzky's first away show! The pair rode a Training 3 and First 1 each day, earning 1st place finishes in all of their 1st level tests! Over the course of the weekend amongst the six tests ridden, their scores ranged from 68.4% to 70.4% and they came home with many High Point ribbons for the weekend as well! It was wonderful to have Emma back with our show crew, especially with her up and coming boy Gretzky, baby Adalyn, and hubby Liam. It was the best of additions to a show weekend.

💗Carly Neilson and her Dutch mare Didolein also made the trip to Vermont to ride the Grand Prix, but unfortunately Leina wasn't feeling her best and retired early in her test on Friday. She is doing fine, but that just wasn't her weekend which is ok! Hopefully she will be ready to go out and shine at another show sometime soon :)

Congratulations to all, and a huge thank you and congratulations goes out to Jackie Smith who helped so many of us to achieve our goals both with the daily training at home as well as great coaching ringside 😎

Arena setup #2 and we’re back in business once more! Thank you Alyssa, Wendy, Vickie, and Robyn for the ring assembly help yesterday! With a new stone dust base, laser grading, and additional sand we should be set for the season 😎
