This month’s beach crew is serving sunshine, naps, sandy paws, and absolutely zero responsibilities.
As summer travel picks up, this is your friendly reminder to check your pet’s vaccines and preventive care before boarding, daycare, grooming, or travel plans sneak up on you.

Many boarding, daycare, and grooming facilities require dogs to be current on:
🐾 Rabies
🐾 DHPP (Distemper/Parvo)
🐾 Bordetella
🐾 Canine Influenza
🐾 Leptospirosis (depending on lifestyle and facility requirements)

Cats commonly need:
🐾 Rabies
🐾 FVRCP

Some vaccines require an initial booster series or time to reach full effectiveness, so it’s always best to plan ahead instead of scrambling right before vacation.

🐑❤️ Missy stopped by today and somehow managed to look like a teddy bear and a tiny sheep at the same time! ❤️🐑
One thing we love helping pet owners navigate is nutrition and healthy lifestyle habits for their pets. It’s not always as simple as picking a bag off the shelf—factors like age, breed, activity level, medical history, treats, portions, and body condition all matter.
Veterinary teams can be a great resource for questions about feeding, weight trends, body condition, and overall wellness during your pet’s routine visits. Sometimes even small changes and early conversations can make a meaningful difference over time.

Abbey Animal Hospital will be closed Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. We will reopen Tuesday, May 26 and resume normal business hours.
