Back by popular demand, a new Harry and Zeke story!! Chapter One
It all started one day when the letter from Outer Space arrived at The Cat Hospital. Harry and Zeke were shocked because they had never gotten mail before. They eagerly tore the long envelope open, and asked Katelyn to read it out loud. This is what she read:
Hi! We are Orion and Pluto, and we live on Itty Bitty Kitty planet. We were stargazing through our telescope last night and found your planet! And we see you have massive cats that live there, so that is why we are writing. You see, on our planet, we are very tiny kittens, and it is so cold here. We have to wear sweaters and live underground to stay warm. But if we could get to be big kitties, we think we would stay warm without clothes! So, we are coming to see you and are excited to learn your secrets to bigness.

Here's a picture from our last month's Cat Hospital field trip to Mystic Aquarium. This time we had a mix of UMass grads, (old and new), current staff and 4 UMass grads turned Veterinary students! Part of the fun is keeping part of the guest list a secret. No cats there, nope, not even a Catfish, but we had fun!

Harry is our Chief Catnip Toy Inspector. Our catnip toys are wonderful, and made by a local fabric artist! So that's one of his jobs, but it's really just a title.

Meet Skittles, a beautiful and sweet one year old spayed female available for adoption through Halfway Home Cat Rescue. She likes people, her plastic spring toys, and her bird toy flying through the air. You know that our Harry and Zeke are purr-fect gentlemen, and she has grown used to them so we think she may enjoy living with another cat after proper introduction. Mia would like to tell her fans that she now weighs a somewhat skinny weight of 13.75 pounds, down from 16.4 pounds a year ago! She came into the shelter weighing a whopping 18 pounds just before that. Her secret is canned food only and 4 kibble a day, placed on her dinner plate like a compass. She's one of Dr. R's cats.

There were surprisingly quite a few smiles last week when we sent our foster Kiki off to her forever home. Kiki is going to be so spoiled (as she deserves to be) after such a rough start. She has a young boy cat to play with, and a new, custom scratching post made for her by her new cat dad just for her! Halfway Home Cat Rescue Inc. really stepped up for this gal.
