FUR Animal Rescue is a state licensed and 501c3 non profit animal rescue dedicated to finding homes or rescue for animals at the North Platte Animal Shelter through evaluating the dogs and cats, creating and providing the pets with information tags for their shelter kennel, taking pictures and videos for online networking and helping to link up potential adopters with pets in need. Our primary goal is to save the pets in our local shelter. We are NOT the shelter. We are volunteers for the shelter. We give names to the nameless, tags to the unknown and hope for the hopeless. We provide rescue, vet care, foster homes and shelter for certain pets in need at the shelter; such as those who are injured, ill, or those who are not acclimating well in the shelter environment, or those whose time is up. Our entire purpose is to give a second chance to the pets in our local shelter, whom otherwise may not have one. All animals pulled into FUR Rescue are fully vetted by our veterinarians and assessed in a foster home (dogs) or at our FURcility (cats) to get to know their personality and likes/dislikes. Adoptions require (simple) applications and a short process to help provide a forever fit and reassurance of your commitment to the pets that we rescue. What we do is called 'shelter rescue.' Our city hosts a city run facility, basically animal control with housing. It is not a humane society or an adoption agency. The staff is small and unable to focus on adoptions - which is our organizations priority, as VOLUNTEERS. Our primary goal is to save lives at our local shelter. We focus on the lives there, first and foremost. This means we cannot take owner surrenders or stray animals into our rescue, as it is a full time commitment already to saving those in our local shelter. Keeping this city shelter no kill, is a full time responsibility. FUR Animal Rescue also rescues and provides vet care, foster homes and rehoming for animals in need within the community, when/if we are able. We work with very limited foster homes, as we are just two people with full time jobs and simply can not take on more than we can handle. FUR Animal Rescue relies completely on fundraising, Cans For Critters (www.facebook.com/NPCansforCritters) and personal/community donations to help animals. If you would like to make a donation, please visit our donation link at:
paypal.me/FurtheLoveofPAWS
venmo

We also co-run the North Platte Pet Food Pantry (www.facebook.com/NorthPlattePetFoodPantry) and solely run Lost Paws (www.facebook.com/LostPawsNorthPlatte)

Our director also runs Lost Paws, a facebook networking page to help reunite owners with lost and found pets - thus keeping them out of the city shelter. We have a program called Snip it in the Bud to assist with the spay and neuter of feral and stray cats. If you need assistance for this, please message us. We are Incorporated, licensed by the Dept. of Ag/State of NE. (NE 3060513) and a 501c3 Non Profit Rescue. www.FurtheLoveofPAWSRescue.com

Meet Kailey and Emmett, the ultimate glow-up love story in cat form! πŸ’ž
Kailey was once the β€œno thank you, I do NOT like other cats” queen of the shelter, while Emmett arrived as the world’s sweetest stray with sad ears and the happiest heart.
Then they met… and BAM - Kailey fell completely in love, Emmett charmed his way straight into her fluffy little soul, and now they’re an inseparable, biscuit-making, belly-rub-loving bonded pair.
They’re healthy, vetted, great with kids, people-obsessed, and looking for a forever home together. Adopt these two and you basically win life. 🌟
Full Bio and How to Adopt:
Meet Kailey and Emmett, available for Adoption through FUR Animal Rescue! Please read this post in entirety :)

Kailey came to us on November 20. She had been at the city shelter for over a month after being brought in with her kittens. One by one, they were quickly adopted, each within a day, and then Kailey sat waiting, overlooked again and again. We were hoping someone would choose her, and when no one did, we knew we had to step in. She's now fully vetted, healthy, at a great weight, and such a happy cat.

Initially, Kailey did not get along with other cats. She was very, very reactive toward them and had no interest in making friends, so we kept her separate and did our best to balance her needs with the others - thinking she'd be best as an only cat. She has even been posted for Adoption for awhile....

Now, enter Emmett. :)
We rescued Emmett on December 15 after he was found as a stray far south of town. He had a double ear infection and needed some major TLC, and we were more than happy to provide it.

From day one, Emmett has been nothing but an absolute, perfect, complete, total angel. He is the most grateful, sweet, social, outgoing, and wonderful cat you could ever dream up. Truly, there is not one single negative thing we could say about him. He loves people, he loves other cats, he loves making biscuits, he loves loves loves playing, he loves loves loves affection and belly rubs, and he is just a truly fantastic cat. We love him so much!

And guess who else also loves him? That's right, our former anti-cat, cat-hater Kailey Kay 🀣
Emmett won her over immediately! These two hit it off right away and have become wonderful pals. It makes me so happy, because I truly believe cats need other cats. Not all of them, of course, but after Kailey has been around many cats and disliked every single one, to see her find joy, comfort, and connection with Emmett means everything.

There is no way we could ever separate that bond. They are simply a perfect match, and we have decided they need to stay together forever.

Now, Enter you. 😊
Now we need a family ASAP for this incredible duo. Adopting two doesn't just make you a hero, it's honestly easier, more fun, more fulfilling, and something you absolutely won't regret. Two hearts, one bond, and endless love waiting for their forever home.

πŸ‘§πŸΌ Great with kids of all ages!
🐈 Kailey only likes Emmett, but Emmett loves all cats.
πŸ• Can test with dogs.
πŸ‘« They absolutely adore people!

πŸ”Έ Requirements:
🏠 A stable living situation (homeownership or rental with landlord approval)
🏞️ A cat tree is a MUST for their enrichment and happiness!
πŸ’§ We highly recommend water fountains for healthier hydration (your cats will THANK you!)

πŸ”Έ Stats:
🐈 Kailey: DSH Black β€’ Emmett: DSH Tabby/White
πŸŽ‚ Kailey approx. 2 years β€’ Emmett approx. 3 years
πŸ’™ Spayed Female β€’ Neutered Male
πŸ’‰ Vaccinated (FVRCP + Rabies)
πŸ’Š On flea/tick/heartworm prevention
πŸ“Š Tested Negative for FIV / FeLV
