It's the first of the month. Is your pet protected? Call the clinic if you need a refill!
All pets must have been examined within the previous 12 months. Dogs must have a current heartworm test, as well.

Just like there are many different types of dogs, there are many different types of dog leashes. But not all are created equal. Check out this article about the potential safety risks associated with retractable leashes and maybe consider an alternative tool.

Today, we celebrate service, sacrifice, and selflessness. We can never bring back our fallen soldiers, but we can honor them in our daily actions.

We will be closed today - Monday, May 26 - in remembrance of those who gave their lives in service of our country. If your pet is in need of urgent or emergent, please contact the nearest emergency clinic (Blue Pearl in Mount Pleasant and Summerville, CVRC in West Ashley, or VEG in Mount Pleasant) or urgent care clinic (such as PawMed in West Ashley and Summerville or AcutePet Urgent Care in Mount Pleasant or Summerville). We will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday, May 27.

We've already started seeing some highs above 90, so that means it's time to talk about heat safety for your pets. Here are some tips:

- First and foremost, do NOT leave your pet in a hot vehicle, even for a short time.
- Do not leave pets unsupervised around pools and make sure to rinse them off after swimming.
- Avoid hot surfaces, such as asphalt. If it's too hot for you to touch for more than a few seconds, it's too hot for your pet to walk on.
- Don't assume the best thing you can do for your thick-coated dog is to shave it. For some breeds, shaving their coat can actually make them more likely to struggle with maintaining their temperature.
