Today in Internal Medicine: Stanley underwent a diagnostic cystoscopy🐾

The procedure allowed direct visualization of the bladder and confirmation of uroliths. No urinary obstruction was present.

Stanley recovered well from anesthesia and is resting comfortably with appropriate pain control and monitoring. 💙

A successful diagnostic procedure that will help guide his ongoing care.

🐾 Meet Our Brave Boy, Ripper 🐾

Sweet Ripper came to Charleston Veterinary Internal Medicine after experiencing vomiting since the end of January. After a thorough workup, he was taken to endoscopy where a foreign body was successfully located and removed.

We’re thrilled to share that Ripper is now recovering comfortably at home and feeling much better. Thank you to his loving family for trusting us with his care — and way to go, Ripper! 💙🐱
We love a happy ending ❤️

🐾 Case of the Day: Goblin in Custody 🐾

Goblin presented to Charleston Veterinary Internal Medicine after a two-day history of vomiting.
Previously seen at Pawmed where bloodwork was performed. They referred him to us for further diagnostics. Here, we completed abdominal ultrasound and X-rays, which led to the decision to perform an endoscopy.

During the procedure, we successfully removed a foreign body. Goblin recovered smoothly from anesthesia and is now home resting and feeling much better! 💚

The “fake driver’s license” toy? Not the culprit — just a very fitting prop for his crime scene photos. Naturally, we couldn’t resist taking a few mugshots. 😹

Moral of the story: Goblin may be small, but his appetite for chaos is mighty. 🐾

🌟 Continuing Education Spotlight! 🌟
A huge thank-you to Charleston Veterinary Internal Medicine for hosting an amazing CE at Poogan’s Courtyard, proudly supported by Hill’s Science Diet.

We had the privilege of learning from Dr. Rebecca Rittenberg, who delivered a fantastic and insightful presentation on Protein-Losing Enteropathy (PLE) — breaking down diagnostics, treatment strategies, and real-world case management in a way that was both practical and inspiring. 🐾🩺

Grateful for this veterinary community that’s always striving, always learning, and always putting our patients first. 💙

Rhinoscopy Update for Piper 🐾

Piper visited us today for a rhinoscopy to take a closer look at her nasal passages and sinuses. Using a small, flexible camera, we were able to thoroughly visualize the area and collect the biopsies and samples we needed.

She handled the procedure beautifully, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. Piper recovered comfortably and was her sweet self as she woke up.

We’ll use the samples collected today to help guide her ongoing care. 💛
