✨ Homeschool Families ✨
Did you know you may be able to use charter school funds for horseback riding lessons?

We’re currently looking into becoming approved vendors with local charters. Many charter schools require parents or teachers to request a vendor—they don’t always allow us to apply directly.

We’d love to partner with as many schools as possible to make riding more accessible for homeschool students in our community. 💛

🔸If you’d like to request us as a vendor with your charter, or if you have any questions, please send us a message. We’re excited to help your students experience the joy of riding!

All bitless options are not created equal!
Education is key no matter what tack we’re discussing.

I use some hackamores, but I always make sure I know how they work, ensure proper fit, and choose what best suits the individual horse. Students are taught how to properly use them—just like they’re taught about bits.

Personally, I love going fully bitless. Sidepulls are my favorite—they’re simple, effective, and my go-to choice for most horses.

💚Remember: it’s not about the equipment alone, but about understanding, connection, and correct use.💚

Before every interaction with a horse—whether it’s training, grooming, or heading out for a ride—I take a moment to pray. 🙏Starting with prayer allows me to release any anxiety, invite the Holy Spirit to guide me, to give me HIS peace that surpasses understanding and give the day fully to the Lord.

Proverbs 16:3 reminds us:
“Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.”

When we invite Him into every ride, every lesson, and every training moment, He establishes not just our plans, but our partnership with the horse beneath us. 💕

➡️ Do you pray before your rides or horse time? I’d love to hear how it shapes your time in the saddle!

☀️🐴 A true summer day at the barn! After group turnout (where everyone came in dripping with sweat 💦), the horses got refreshing hose down and are now cooling off with their version of “sweet tea.” 🍵✨

Horse Sweet Tea Recipe 🪣
(made in a standard feed bucket)
• Small amount of grain
• 1–2 scoops of electrolytes
• Fill halfway with water

It’s a simple way to keep them hydrated, happy, and feeling good on a hot summer. 💛

Did You Know?

There are three breeds of horses that spread into Europe from the Middle East during the Middle Ages. These breeds greatly influenced the development of light cavalry and racing horses in Europe.

The three breeds were the Barbary Horse (Barb) from Northern Africa, the Turkmen or Turcoman horse (Turk) from the Eurasian steppes, and the Arabian horse from the Arabian Peninsula. at the Kentucky Horse Park

✨ Not all days are perfect. Some days, if we’re being honest, just plain tough. And that’s okay.

This past week was a bit of a mess. Boaz is still young and bit immature, still testing limits, and still figuring out the rules. But that’s part of the journey.

Just like a loving parent corrects their child, we as riders are called to guide our horses with patience and consistency. Correction doesn’t have to be harsh. It can be gentle, fair, and rooted in love.

✝️“The Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastens everyone He accepts as His son.”
~Hebrews 12:6~

When we correct in love, we reflect the same grace God shows us. The goal isn’t to break a horse down, but to build them up—to shape trust, respect, and partnership.

The messy days remind us that progress isn’t always smooth, but every step—forward or backward—is part of the bigger picture.

❤️Keep showing up with patience. Keep offering love in correction. And remember: the best partnerships are often built right in the middle of the mess.❤️

✨ Exciting Update at SK Equine Academy ✨
All of our lesson horses are now fully bitless and going in hackamores! 🐴💫

This change reflects our belief that true horsemanship comes from partnership, not force. By removing the bit, we’re giving our horses the opportunity to communicate more freely, stay comfortable, and build trust with every rider.

For our students, this means learning to ride with clearer cues, softer hands, and a deeper connection with their horse. 💕

We’re proud to stand apart in offering lessons that focus on relationship, respect, and horsemanship.

Come experience the difference for yourself — where horsemanship is about heart, not hardware.
