After the dog park we had enough time to have lunch at a place that had a patio right on the street. Nice place for the dogs to have distractions and behave themselves. I think they had a big disappointment because neither one of us humans feed from the table! 😄😋

Another day at the dog park. This time we took Judy and Eddie. I should have taken a video of Eddie doing zoomies when we first got there. He just does them all by himself so Judy halfway joined in with him. They just met each other today. Eddie did very well on his impulse control while Judy was playing with the flirt. He is starting to understand that just because somebody else gets to do something doesn't necessarily mean he gets to do it also.

Blink and Judy got a chance to meet a little Boston Terrier at the dog park today.

We went to the dog park for Judy's lesson today. I was told that she doesn't have the greatest recall when she is in a large area. I brought Blink because I wasn't positive that Blink would have a good recall with the distraction of a new fun puppy friend. It ended up that Judy did very well because she was a little nervous being in a strange place off leash and she stayed very close to her owner. She did take a little time to play with Blink and do some small exploration. Blink was her normal self and did me proud when we had an aggressive dog on the other side of the fence. Neither Blink or Judy engaged with him! Then a man with a very well trained dog arrived and played Chuck it on the other side of the fence with his dog off leash. The pair was amazing! Blink ran along the fence line but didn't bark and watched intently. I asked the gentleman if he would play right there so I could see what our dogs would do if they weren't allowed to participate. Neither one of them barked. When distractions like this happen, it gives you a chance to see how far along you are in your dog training. I can't wait for the dog play day this Saturday! Both Judy and Blink are going to be there. 😃

I am so proud of Pip and Flyboy. I usually take the dogs to a dog park once or twice a week so that they have another place besides my place to sniff around and play ball. Today when I took them to the Corona dog park so that a friend and I could eat lunch, there was a large male intact Pitbull in the big dog section. We opted to go in the small dog park because all he did was jump at the fence and bark at us. We go in the big dog park if it is empty because there is more room to throw a chuckit ball. When I turned my dogs loose, the other dog ran the entire fence line with his hair up barking and jumping on the fence. My dogs went over and stood at the fence without barking until they realized that he wasn't being friendly. So they trotted away all by themselves without a backwards look and never engaged. I was so proud of them! One of the hardest things to do is train your dog to be calm around a reactive dog. By the time I pulled out my camera, the dog tired of fighting on the fence line and his owner was on the way down to recall him. Thank you, Julie Douglas , for breeding such a level-headed dog as Flyboy. He has always been easy to train!
