And here we are 4 months later right in the middle of building that covered arena. Take action to change your life and trust the process.
There’s some new faces here following along on our page so mix that with it being a new year and we get me deciding to take the time to write a post to re-introduce ourselves and our business.
So. Here goes it.
Hi! I’m Caitie Holtzman— the usual voice behind Versatile Horsemanship’s posts. If you follow me on Facebook, Cowgirl’s Cavvy, or Off 82 Horse Hotel… Well, those are all my voices too so. 🤷🏻♀️
Anyways… I’m starting with introducing our core business, founded officially on paper in 2012… But the reality is that it haphazardly opened in 2008. Shhh… 🤫
We named the business appropriately as I think you'll agree with once you read this chapter I've written.
My husband Elliot Holtzman and I operate this Equine business venture together—as a two-horseman team.
The business started out as a traveling lesson + training ride service. From there we secured a shared rental facility and started taking in horses. We continued to grow, renting larger and larger facilities and with many failures, mistakes, learning, and a touch of audacity that growth ultimately led to us purchasing OUR OWN 65-acres in Nocona, Texas in 2022.
Tell me that I can’t, and I sure will.
Versatile Horsemanship now has a few branches, and at the heart of it all is the horse.
Training-wise, we start colts and train Liberty horses.
⭐️ The colts we start under saddle are a variety of breeds and go on to multiple disciplines; from Reining to Dressage, Rope and Barrel Horses, Cow Horse to Jumping, Trail Riding to Working Equitation… Large or small, we start em’ all.
⭐️ Liberty horses— what even is that?
Liberty is an equestrian discipline that consists of working a horse through specific patterns and maneuvers without tack that physically “connects” the horse to the handler— i.e. no halter, no bridle, no ropes.
These horses leave our program and go on to compete in the Liberty horse sport via the International Liberty Horse Association competitions, and also go on to perform in specialty acts, night time shows, and on film and photography sets with their owners.
We owe our horse training knowledge not only to study and experience, but also to a select handful of mentors who have been integral in our lives and our educations. 🙏🏻

Other branches of our business include...
⭐️ Clinics—
Teaching Liberty and Riding Clinics both here at home, across the country, and internationally. We also HOST other clinicians here at our facility.
We’ve began offering coaching at competitions for our customers! And a real fun part of what we get to do is travel the country to different horse Expos and teach through demonstrations and actually perform with our own horses which I LOVE the creativity and the collaboration that goes into that!
In the last year, we added event hosting back to our list of services offered. Additionally we now offer Select Sale Horses through Cowgirl’s Cavvy, we operate an AirBNB and Horse Layover spot through the Off 82 Horse Hotel, and I’m monetizing on social media now because I’m on here promoting our businesses anyway so why not get paid to do it.
⭐️ Competition—
I believe that I already said this, but we do offer coaching at events and competitions for our customers now via our VH Show Team.. I think I should have shirts made.
I personally enjoy showing in the Reining, mostly the Freestyle Reining when they’re happening, and Elliot loves the sport of the Reined Cow Horse and Working Equitation. We both compete in Versatility Ranch Horse Shows and enjoy showing in the Liberty discipline through the International Liberty Horse Association. I also have an inkling to try out Dressage pending the brokenness of a certain gray horse, and Elliot has been known to love a good Cross Country course every now and then.

⭐️ NEW in 2026…
We are working hard on our virtual learning platforms.
1. Through our page here we operate a Subscriber Hub where we’re sharing the story + training tips of Elliot’s journey in preparing TWO red horses for the 2027 Snaffle Bit Futurity. We’re also taking a deep dive into mindset and the power of that.
2. We are in the process of building a virtual learning platform in terms of a few limited video series. This is a “how-to” series. The first follows 3 year old AQHA mare “Chili Dog” through the entire process of starting her under saddle. Elliot has broken down his process step-by-step and is sharing it with you in how he applies it to Chili Dog’s education.
3. Virtual Lessons and Consultations with Elliot— we technically started this last year but I’ll be honest, I didn’t put THAT much effort into promoting it. So, one of Elliot’s goals this year is to gain at least 5 committed, weekly Virtual Lesson clients. He’s already gained 3. 😎
He most often teaches these lessons live via PIVO or Zoom, topics covering show preparation and all things horse training. He also does pattern consultations and reviews, mostly for Versatility Ranch Horse and Liberty.
4. I forgot to add the virtual Equine Science course I'm building for the every day horseman and owner. With my background in teaching, my degrees, and my industry experience, I'm building a course designed to HELP horse owners navigate horses and ownership all about the horse. Link and sneak peek coming SOON!

➡️ Ultimately, God placed a calling involving horses, creativity, teaching, collaboration, and connecting horses to people and people to people on mine and Elliot’s hearts and we aim to rise to that calling and our purpose by sharing our stories, experience, and adventure with YOU via Versatile Horsemanship and our other business ventures. We aim to INSPIRE.
‼️As our followers, introduce yourself in the comments please!
I want to get to know YOU! Comment away.⬇️👇🏻
I will post links to all the business branches that I mentioned above in the comments. Chili Dog's training series does not have a link yet, but will soon.
Oh and PS— One way or another, we will build a covered arena this year. But, more on that later.
SO! Welcome to Versatile Horsemanship, owned and operated by Elliot and Caitie Holtzman based in Nocona, Texas.
