Sound Dog Training Center is the realization of a life long dream for owners Terry Murphy and Sally Hoyt. We are an indoor, fully-matted training facility with a completely fenced Agility field. We are located in Newport, NC on the beautiful Crystal Coast. We offer Obedience, Rally, Therapy, Conformation, and Agility.

Theo's owners have been cultivating his natural attention to them. This early exercise towards "stay" takes advantage of his understanding that good things result when he watches them. He wowed all of us with the duration! (Note the release at the end.)

Congratulations to instructor Sue and her co-raisers' most recent Future Leader Dog, TICA, who returned to Leader Dogs for the Blind and is now working in guide dog harness. We hope he'll continue to enjoy this difficult work and be matched with a client in October.

We practice for long term success! Just last week this barely-5-month-old pup was pulling on his leash in all directions. Now he's learning that being right beside Mom earns him peanut butter licks. When he understands, we will fade the peanut butter for praise and occasional treats.
