Hey, as most have been following Mike and Staples story, we wanted to let you know.
Staples has gone into a foster home with the potential for adoption! Yaya! We are over the moon. Keep him in your thoughts, as he adjusts to living in a house!! 🎉🎉

Our other boy Mike, is still looking for his permanent belly rubber! Please continue to share him, as we are hopeful his person will come soon!

Our volunteers are what make our shelter so amazing. It’s hard work, but the reward is beyond measure. Even on the difficult days, the animals are what keep us going, and remind us why we do what we do.

The Carteret County Humane Society is completely out of kennel space, and our dogs desperately need loving homes. Please come meet these sweet, adoptable faces and help us make room for the animals still waiting for us.

We’re open Monday–Friday 10 AM–1 PM & 2 PM–5 PM and Saturdays 10 AM–4 PM.

Our sweet baby girl Beauty had her last day with us as a shelter dog!!!! She has found her home after almost a year, we sent her off with well wishes for her and her new family. We will miss our little hippopotamus but are super excited for her!! Happy Day Beauty!! 🎉🎉🐶🐶

Congratulations to our Coloring Contest Winner, Abby! 🎉

What an incredible turnout this past month! We received 8 amazing submissions, and you all made it so hard to choose our favorite. Every entry was creative, colorful, and full of heart.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated! We're so grateful to see our coloring contest continue to grow and bring our community together while celebrating these adorable adoptable animals.
