🐾 Committed to Excellence in Emergency Care 🐾
Today, the team at Newport Veterinary Hospital completed our on-site RECOVER Veterinary CPR Certification Training!
After successfully finishing extensive online Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) coursework, our doctors and staff participated in hands-on training to practice the skills needed to respond quickly and effectively during veterinary emergencies.
The RECOVER Initiative provides the most current, evidence-based guidelines for veterinary CPR, helping veterinary professionals deliver the highest standard of life-saving care when every second counts.
We are proud of our team's dedication to continuing education and their commitment to providing exceptional care for your pets- both in routine visits and in critical situations.
Please join us in congratulating our team on this accomplishment! 🎉🐶🐱

🐾✨ Did you know that at Newport Veterinary Hospital, we offer Companion Laser Therapy to help pets heal comfortably and naturally?

Laser therapy, also called photobiomodulation, uses therapeutic light energy to target damaged cells and stimulate the body’s natural healing process. Much like sunlight helps plants produce energy, laser therapy helps energize your pet’s cells to reduce pain, decrease inflammation, and promote faster healing.

This safe, drug-free, and non-invasive treatment can help pets experiencing:
• Arthritis and joint pain
• Muscle, tendon, or ligament injuries
• Back or neck pain
• Postoperative surgical recovery*
• Post-Dental procedure care*
• Wound healing and skin conditions
• Acute or chronic ear infections
* The NVH team utilize laser therapy for our post op patients!

What to expect during treatment:
🕶️ Your pet, the technician, and anyone nearby will wear protective eyewear (“doggles” included!)
✨ A handheld laser device is gently passed over the treatment area — no shaving or clipping required.
💙 Most pets feel a soothing warmth during therapy and become very relaxed.

Laser therapy can be used alongside your pet’s prescribed treatment plan to help improve comfort and quality of life.

If you think your pet could benefit from laser therapy, contact us to learn more or schedule a consultation!

National Rescue Dog Day is proudly observed annually on May 20th to bring awareness to the countless number of amazing dogs in shelters around the world who deserve a second chance at a forever home. 🐾💙

Today we honor the resilience, loyalty, and unconditional love that rescue dogs bring into our lives every day. Whether your dog came from a shelter, rescue organization, or was taken in by a kind-hearted family, every adoption story matters.

Rescue dogs may come with unknown histories, but they also come with endless love, gratitude, and trust for second chances. From playful puppies to wise seniors, each one deserves safety, compassion, and a loving home.

If you’ve adopted a rescue pet, we’d love to see them! Share a photo and tell us their story in the comments below. 🐶✨

Thank you to all the shelters, rescue groups, foster families, and adopters who help make happy endings possible every day.

Happy Veterinary Assistants Week from all of us at Newport Veterinary Hospital 💙🐾
This week, we’re celebrating the incredible veterinary assistants who help keep our hospital running every single day. From comforting nervous pets and supporting our doctors and technicians, to keeping patients safe, clean, and cared for- their compassion and hard work never go unnoticed.
Thank you to Jo-Ann, Kirby, and Kennedy for everything you do for our patients, clients, and team. We appreciate you not just this week, but every day! 🐶🐱🐰✨
