🥵 Staten Island Pet Parents: Have a Heat Wave Plan!

With this dangerous heat wave, I wanted to share something that could really help if your power goes out or your A/C stops working.

If your home gets too hot, don't wait until your pet shows signs of overheating. Move them to an air-conditioned location as soon as possible.

🐾 Petco Charleston (165 Bricktown Way) welcomes leashed pets during business hours and is part of NYC's pet-friendly cooling options.

🐶 PetSmart Port Richmond (1525 Forest Ave) and PetSmart New Dorp (2656 Hylan Blvd) also welcome leashed pets, so they're another great option if you need to get out of the heat.

🚗 Even a short ride in an air-conditioned car can help cool your pet down if your home becomes too hot. Never leave your pet unattended in a parked car—not even for a minute. Temperatures inside can become life-threatening very quickly🌡️

💧 Make sure your pets always have access to plenty of fresh, clean water and keep them well hydrated.
