Another HAPPILY HOMED!! 🏠 Congrats Nico! 🎉

Nico is a young calico cat found abandoned on the lower east side. After living at our PetSmart adoptions center for a couple of weeks, she found her forever home earlier this summer - not too far from where she was found, but this time in a comfy and spacious 2-bedroom apartment, with a new cat roommate and a mom who adores her.

From her new mom:

“Nico has been such a wonderful addition to the family. She’s the perfect kitty.

She loves to sit on my chair when I’m working (I of course only get 1 inch of chair space, rightfully so), is very food-motivated (she’s already learned to sit!!!), and loves to play. She joins me in my work meetings sometimes haha! She’s met some of my closest friends so far and loves them too.

Her and my resident cat are slowly being introduced and no incidents so far — I can’t wait till they fully meet!!

Thank you all again. I’m so honored to be Nico’s parent!”

IT IS TIME FOR HAPPILY HOME!! 🏠

Cookie is a 3 year old tabby girl brought in by one of our rescue partners. We don’t know much about her past, but she melted hearts with her sweet personality and soft belly during her stay at our PetSmart cat condos (see attached photo). She was adopted at the beginning of summer by a couple and now lives a happy life in Astoria.

From her new parents:

“Goose (Cookie) has settled in well and is doing great! She’s the biggest cuddle bug and seems to be loving her new space. Her eating and bathroom habits are well. She has tons of toys now too so we’re making sure she stays stimulated and playful. Attached are some photos!”

It’s time for a HAPPILY HOMED!!! 🥰 🏠 🐱

Kiri is a beautiful long-haired calico cat surrendered by someone who posted on Nextdoor. She spent a few weeks at our PetSmart adoptions center where she melted everyone’s heart with her sweet mellow personality. She was adopted at the beginning of summer to a loving home not too far away from PetSmart.

From her new mom:

“Kiri (now named Hazy) is doing AMAZING. We are so in love with her - I honestly don’t remember life before her! She is the sweetest, most playful kitty ever. She follows me everywhere and makes everyday so much better.

I feel so grateful that I spontaneously walked into PetSmart that day - it was fate.”

Keep you and your cats safe & cool! It’s important to be aware of the signs of heat stroke or over heating in cats.

Panting/trouble breathing
Restlessness
Rapid heartbeat/increased heart rate
Drooling
Lethargy/weakness
Increased body temperature
Stumbling/loss of balance
Vocalizing
Bright pink or red gums
Red tongue
Glazed eyes

“Heat exhaustion is a medical emergency. If your cat isn’t cooled down promptly, it can lead to irreversible organ damage and/or loss of life.”

So keep the house cool, turn on a/c or fans. Make drinking water readily available.

Violet is a 1-year-old sweetheart with a gentle soul and playful spirit. 🥰 She’s never one to bite or scratch—just pure kindness in a furry little package. While she’s not quite a lap cat yet, she loves hanging out nearby and being part of the action. Whether she’s chasing her toys or relaxing beside you, Violet’s companionship is easy and comforting.

She’s not overly needy and does great with a calm, consistent routine. That said, she is very food-motivated—she’ll never say no to canned food or a tasty treat! 👅 Violet would make a wonderful first cat for someone new to feline friendship, or a playful buddy for a resident cat looking for a friend.

Javi is a young, energetic boy is seeking a loving home where he will be cherished and protected for the rest of his life. 🥰 He a tripod cat, but he doesn’t let that slow him down! Within a week of his surgery, Javi was jumping onto furniture and checking on wildlife outside of the window.

Playful and inquisitive, Javi tries really hard to make friends with his foster cat siblings and is sweet and respectful to the resident cats in his foster home (except for wanting to eat their food). ❤️ 🐱

He’s quickly learning to trust humans and in the very short time that he’s been in foster care he has learned to accept hand fed treats and will rub up against you at feeding time! 😻He also enjoys interactive play with lasers and wand toys.

Javi likes to be in the room with everyone else and really wants a home where he can be an important part of the family. He wants lots of toys and an accessible perch that he can climb and get a good view. 🦅
