🐾 PUPPY’S FIRST GROOM: WHY STARTING EARLY MATTERS! 🐾
Did you know your puppy can start learning to LOVE grooming as early as 12 weeks old? 🐶💗
Early grooming builds a lifetime of stress-free salon visits. It’s about building trust, confidence, and positive associations with everything that comes with grooming — the bathtub, dryer, clippers, brushes, nail trims, being handled, and even having their feet, ears, and face touched. Bringing your puppy in starting at 12 weeks helps them build confidence, adapt to new sounds, and view pampering as a fun routine.
At our salon, we go at your pup’s pace. We focus on positive reinforcement, gentle handling, and creating a calm environment. We take the time to let puppies explore their surroundings, meet their groomer, and experience each part of the process at their own pace. We never want their first visit to feel overwhelming or scary.
Tips to prepare at home:
🐾 Handle the paws: Gently touch and massage their feet daily so nail trims aren't a surprise.
🐶 Introduce noises: Run an electric toothbrush near them to mimic the feel and sound of clippers. (Or clipper if you have one)
💕 Keep it positive: Reward small wins with high-value treats (our favorite is freeze dried liver!) and lots of praise.
