Sunrise Therapeutic Riding Center Sunrise, Inc. offers a variety of therapeutic horseback riding and horsemanship activities including lessons, hosting field trips, and more!

Sunrise is a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl) center member and offers horseback riding and ground lessons to qualifying participants as recreational therapy. All of our lessons are taught by or supervised by a PATH Intl registered instructor. Sunrise also offers horseback riding and horsemanship opportunities for veterans. Sunrise offers lessons year

round. Our activity calendar is based around three ten week sessions. Lessons and outings are also available out-of-session and during winter months. Sunrise has an indoor and an outdoor arena, so activities usually take place rain or shine. We currently maintain a small herd of horses and ponies, and work hard to match participants with the right horse for them. We welcome volunteers, and host volunteer training sessions for new volunteers monthly. also offers a limited number of unpaid internships. Please contact the office for more information.

Today's fundraising highlight is something extra special..

It’s a reminder that the freedoms we wake up to each day like
the ability to gather with family, build a life, chase dreams, speak freely, love openly, and simply live the life we choose all came at a huge cost.

Behind every American flag is a story. A sacrifice. A brave man or woman who gave everything for something bigger than themselves.

Today we remember those who never made it home. We honor the families who carry both pride and pain. And we pause today to reflect on how easy it can be to take ordinary moments for granted when someone else paid an extraordinary price for them.

Freedom has never been free.
May we never lose sight of that.

🐴 Interested in becoming a therapeutic riding instructor? Are you a freelance riding instructor, equestrian professional, or advanced rider looking to expand your experience and strengthen your resume?

📣 Sunrise Therapeutic Riding Center is now accepting applications for a special PATH Intl. Instructor Internship opportunity!

Work alongside experienced staff while learning:
• Therapeutic riding instruction
• Adaptive teaching techniques
• How to work with individuals with disabilities
• Professional lesson planning and horsemanship skills

Sunrise will provide mentorship and training at no cost to selected applicants and will cover PATH Intl. certification application fees in exchange for a 12-month paid teaching commitment. Interns are responsible for their own books and educational resource costs. Long-term employment opportunities may also be available.

✅ Applicant Requirements:
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be an experienced rider/instructor
• Experience in education or working with individuals with disabilities preferred

⚠️ IMPORTANT:
This is not a simple weekend course. PATH Intl. CTRI training typically takes approximately 12 months to complete and requires dedication, professionalism, and commitment. Applicants should carefully consider the expectations before applying. At this time, we are only considering applicants with current equine experience, including the ability to confidently ride walk, trot, and canter, previous lesson experience, and basic equine husbandry skills.

Hello Sunrise friends and followers,

To our riders and families, you may have noticed lessons looking a little different lately. There has been less riding, more groundwork, and some changes in the horses and equipment being used. After taking time to process everything and follow up with law enforcement, we’re ready to share why.

Three weeks ago, someone entered our facility and selectively stole Sunrise equipment and tack. Hundreds of dollars worth of essential items were taken. Equipment we rely on every day to safely provide services to our participants. This loss has significantly impacted our small nonprofit program.

Among the stolen items were girths for every one of our saddles, bits for our bridles, and a riding surcingle used to support riders who benefit from sensory input or ba****ck riding as part of their therapeutic goals.

While this act was meant to hurt Sunrise, the people most affected are the riders and families who trust us each week to bring joy, confidence, purpose, and routine back into their lives. Interruptions like this can delay progress, disrupt schedules that many riders rely on day-to-day, and affect far more than just what happens in the arena.

We are deeply saddened this happened, but we are committed to moving forward.

We are also incredibly grateful. Because of the kindness of donors, sponsors, and supporters, we’ve already been able to begin replacing some of the stolen items and taking steps toward getting programs fully back on track. Your support means more than we can ever express.

Friends & supporters of Sunrise — our horses need YOU! 🐴✨

Just like people, horses benefit from chiropractic care to keep their spines healthy, comfortable, and pain-free. Our incredible horses work hard every day, often carrying unbalanced riders as they help them achieve personal goals and improve their quality of life. Now it’s our turn to give back to them.

We’re looking for FIVE sponsors — one for each Sunrise horse — to receive a much-needed adjustment as we wrap up our Spring session.

Meet the horses:

Bella – Our beautiful gray mare who does the heavy lifting! Bella supports many of our adult riders, giving them independence and joy. She would love a sponsor for her adjustment.

Bailey – Our “step-up” horse for riders ready for a more responsive partner. Bailey patiently helps advanced riders refine their skills and confidence.

Dolly – A dream therapy horse. Sweet, dependable, and incredibly patient with new and nervous riders. Keeping Dolly comfortable and sound is essential.
