We are so excited to announce upcoming litter from two of our favorite Icelandic Sheepdogs!
Anyone who follows Fur and Feathers Farm knows how much we adore our Maggie. She is truly an an all-around Icie, from being a top notch cuddler, to a vigilant chicken guardian and farm dog, to a stellar contender in the conformation ring - often all in the same day. By the age of three, Maggie had earned her Grand Championship, represented the breed at AKC’s “Meet the Breeds” 3 times, showed at Westminster, and earned 5 other titles ranging from FastCat to Trick Dog. Her exceptional, even keeled temperament and winning smile make her a wonderful breed ambassador. She is a beloved part of our farm and family.
Crisp probably doesn’t need an introduction. He has made a huge contribution to the breed being recognized in the conformation ring. His amount of group placements are remarkable for a breed with such small numbers. Yet, he is not just beauty and brawn - he is a most loving, loyal companion to his person and a gentle playmate with her grandchildren. He has shown his talent at agility competitions throughout the northeast and he is extremely smart and eager to please. Crisp was awarded Best of Breed at both Westminster and The National Dog Show. He had big paws to fill, as both his sire and grand sire were both Best of Breed winners at Westminster as well. Crisp was of the only litter by his dam, who is an agility star in her own right. He is a stunning example of the breed and a total love-bug.
We are so grateful to Jan Deguire for letting us use her boy. We have every reason to believe that these puppies will be beautiful examples of the breed that will be every bit as versatile as their parents.
Also, huge thanks to Dan Flynn for allowing us to meet up at his gorgeous Butterfly Farm in Lincoln,RI and for always being so wonderfully kind and generous with his knowledge and time. Without his expertise, I might not be making this announcement today, so a truly heartfelt “Thank you, Dan”
And thank you to Inga Nevy for entrusting us with little Maggie three years ago.
Puppies are due June 6. if you have an ISAA calendar, you might notice that you just flipped the page to June and are seeing a photo of Maggie and baby Elfa. Of course Maggie would choose to have her puppies during the month that she is the centerfold on the ISAA calendar. That is just how she rolls.
If you are not interested in being inundated with puppy photos, now would be the time to pause notifications from this page😁
The countdown begins….
