For those of you just starting to follow this story - here is the original post with all the info - https://www.facebook.com/100069403744250/posts/1290135459976567/
UPDATE:
On May 15th, JPD arrived and removed the goats and geese from the farm. However, they were unable to find placement for the 45+ chickens, leaving them still in my care and continuing to accumulate costs daily.
To date, the cost of caring for the goats and geese alone totaled $5,635.86.
An itemized total was emailed directly to Mayor Kuhn requesting reimbursement for the months of feed, hay, housing, labor, and care that my family and farm absorbed. As of today, I have received no response.
While Jackson Township has continued to avoid accountability, this community has done the exact opposite. Local residents, fellow farmers, small businesses, and complete strangers stepped up when Jackson township would not.
At this point, I have scheduled consultations with both an attorney and a journalist regarding the handling of this situation and the financial burden placed on private citizens.
I will continue documenting everything publicly and transparently as this progresses.
And once again — thank you to everyone who has supported us, donated, shared posts, checked in, and helped care for these animals along the way. We truly could not have done this without you.
