If anyone is interested, the San Antonio Animal Care Services has chickens and other fowl coming in. I have included the email below. Please contact them if you are interested in increasing your flocks! I picked up 6 today and they seem to be in good health
"We are contacting you to let you know that we have begun a large scale impound for several types of fowl soon. There are no turkeys for thanksgiving, but we do have some other fantastic, feathered friends for you to see!
This impound still has 38 individuals including 27 hens, 2 roosters, 1 goose, and 5 ducks reported to be in good health. Due to our space constraints, we will not be able to complete this impound until we have placement for a majority of these guys.
Recently we found placement and were able to rehome 6 hens!
It would be a huge help, and we would be greatly appreciative if you are able to take some of these birds on. Please let us know if you are able to place a hold on and house some of these guys so we can bring them in.
Thank you for all your help and we hope to hear from you soon!"
Thank you,
