Happy National Celebrate Shelter Pets Day to Maverick, the dog who gives us every reason to celebrate.🎉

When he arrived two months ago, he was battling a painful skin condition and infection (see before photo). Thanks to an incredible Foster and dedicated medical care from our team, Maverick is officially healed, happy, and SO ready for a home!

“Thank you for letting me spend Thanksgiving with a family.” 🧡

This year, 24 pups celebrated Furriendsgiving in Foster Homes, soaking up love and a much-needed break from the stress of shelter life. And the best part? Their fosters learned so much about them, giving us the insight we need to find each pup their loving families! And some already have!

Mark your calendars!💉

Our next monthly Low-Cost Vaccine and Microchip Clinic will be at FiftyForward Donelson Station on Saturday, December 13th! Community members will be able to receive vaccines, microchips, deworming medication, and flea/tick prevention for their dogs and cats thanks to your local donations and a generous grant from the Banfield Foundation! 🐶🐱

How it works: Making an appointment is the best way to guarantee your pet will be seen and helps our team keep the clinic running smoothly. But if you can’t book ahead, walk-ups are still welcome! We’ll accept as many as we can based on availability once the event begins.

Vaccines include: Rabies, DAPP, DAPPL, Bordetella, and FVRCP.

• Maximum of 5 pets per household.
• Cash and/or credit payment options only. ⁠
• We ask that all pets please be on a leash or in a carrier.

From all of our staff, volunteers, and furry friends, thank you for supporting Nashville Humane this !

We are so excited to report that we SURPASSED our goal and raised $121,347 for our mission yesterday!

We can't begin to express how much this will impact the animals at Nashville Humane. Even though we always aim to provide the best possible care to the dogs and cats that come through our doors, the shelter can't meet all of their needs. The nearly 4,000 animals we serve every year now have better access to medical care, Foster Homes, and their day-to-day essentials as they wait to find their loving families.🩵

If you need a dose of holiday cheer, Walnut’s Furriendsgiving recap is exactly that!❤️

Walnut spent last week in a Foster Home, and he understood the holiday assignment perfectly. Cozy sweater? Check. Curled up with his new foster sibling? Check. Long naps in front of the Christmas tree? Check, check, check!

He made himself right at home, and we're so grateful Furriendsgiving made that possible! His foster sibling showed him the ropes, and with a confident buddy by his side, Walnut blossomed into the sweetest, snuggliest version of himself.

Last Chance to Give: Meet Coco and Her Puppies!🩷

Coco came to us from Operation Dark Passage, a large-scale rescue conducted by our friends at Animal Rescue Corps. 54 animals were living in terrible conditions, including some inside a trailer with no running water and rotting floors. Coco was one of these animals, and after confirming she was pregnant, our team prepared her to give birth safely in one of our Foster Homes.

Coco welcomed six puppies into the world, and the entire family has required round-the-clock care ever since. Mom and babies receive vet checks every other week, the pups are weighed every day, and once her babies are weaned, Coco will need a dental procedure before adoption.

Taking in an entire family isn’t the norm, but thanks to our generous community, we can say yes. With only a few hours left, we hope you’ll join us in the fight. Please give if you can. Share, like, or tell your friends. Together, we can make a HUGE difference in the lives of shelter pets.

Meet Bishop: A Staff Favorite, Senior Pup🤍

Bishop came to us almost two years ago as a senior, and while his journey didn’t lead to adoption, his story is just as important. Bishop has arthritis, cataracts, a heart murmur, no teeth, and seizures, which make him a special-needs dog who requires ongoing care and cannot live in a traditional home.

His care is intensive: echos every few months, expensive medications, and a special diet all ensure he lives comfortably and safely. While our goal is always adoption, sometimes that isn’t possible, but it doesn’t change our promise to Bishop.

Thanks to our supportive community and dedicated fosters, Bishop receives the love, care, and attention he needs every single day. From the moment he arrived until the day he crosses the rainbow bridge, we will continue to provide for all his needs.

Meet Twilight: Old Injury. New Chance.🐱

Twilight came into our care after a local vet asked for our help. A concerned citizen had brought in a stray cat with a broken arm. X-rays showed the fracture was old, meaning Twilight had been living with this injury for a while.

Our team helped perform surgery to place a plate in his arm, but his journey isn’t over. He’ll need time, care, and monitoring as he heals, and there may be additional procedures depending on how his arm recovers.

This was another unexpected call, but watching Twilight come out of his shell and heal has made it all worth it. Thanks to Tomorrow’s Tails, we can make sure Twilight will never know the streets, loneliness, or pain again.
