Dog Day isn’t just an event, it’s a Nashville tradition!🐾

Think: pups in costumes strutting their stuff, speedy wiener dog races, dogs flying through agility courses, live music, food trucks, shopping galore in our Vendor Village, and endless wagging tails all in one place! Presented by Mars Petcare US and Beaman Toyota, you won't want to miss the 36th annual Dog Day Festival at Centennial Park on October 18th.

What do Stephen & Barron have in common?

They both happen to have… ringworm. Before you say “yikes,” here’s the truth:

✔️ Ringworm isn’t a worm at all; it’s a fungal skin infection similar to athlete’s foot in people.
✔️ It’s contagious, but totally curable with a simple care plan!

So while Stephen & Barron may have a temporary skin condition, that shouldn't stop them from finding a permanent home! So don’t overlook them, or any of our pets, just because of ringworm. It won’t last forever, but your bond with them will.💙

Mark your calendars!💉

Our next monthly Low-Cost Vaccine and Microchip Clinic will be at Nashville Humane's admin offices (across the street from our shelter) on Saturday, September 20th! The first 100 attendees will be able to receive vaccines, microchips, deworming medication, and flea/tick prevention for their dogs and cats thanks to your local donations and a generous grant from the Banfield Foundation! 🐶🐱

Vaccines are $15 each: Rabies, DAPP, DAPPL, Bordetella, and FVRCP.
Microchips are $10.
General Deworming Medication is $5.
Flea/Tick Prevention (lasts 30 days) is $10.

• No appointment is needed. ⁠
• Serving the first 100 pets (dogs and cats) to arrive. ⁠
• Cash and/or credit payment options only. ⁠
• We ask that all pets please be on a leash or in a carrier.

Amelia has already proven she’s a fighter, now she just needs someone to fight for her.💔

Amelia came to us through our partner Metro Nashville Animal Care and Control after being hit by a car. With a shattered leg and Lyme disease, she endured surgery and months of recovery. Through it all, Amelia’s spirit never faded, and she quickly became a staff favorite.

But Amelia’s story isn’t finished yet. She’s still waiting for the one thing she’s been missing all along: a family.

Amelia takes a little time to feel safe in new places, but once she does, she blossoms into the sweetest, most loyal companion. She loves being with her people, carrying around her stuffie toys, sniffing and exploring outside, and greeting everyone she meets with a wagging tail. She’s made doggie friends in our care, has previously lived with dogs, and she’d thrive with a canine sibling to help her shine.

This brave girl has overcome so much, and with a little patience and TLC, she’ll give you her whole heart. Could you be the one to finally give Amelia the life she’s fought so hard for?❤️
