Be Humane!🌈

It's more than a sign on our wall. It's more than a shirt. It's a reminder of who we strive to be every day.

Starting this weekend, stop by Nashville Humane to meet adoptable dogs and cats, shop our new merch, and support a mission built on compassion. Every purchase supports the lifesaving care our animals receive every day!

Because being humane matters.❤️

Looking to add a furry friend to your family? You don't have to come to our shelter to do it!🧡

Come meet some of our adorable, adoptable dogs and support Nashville Humane at the Nashville Farmers' Market this Saturday, June 13th.

Even if you don’t live by our shelter, this is your chance to connect with us and see how you can help (or adopt!) from wherever you are. Come say hi, get some puppy love, and meet your new best friend!

Happy Foster a Pet Month!🐾

Consider this your sign to give fostering a try!

Every day, animals in our care benefit from spending time in foster homes. Some need a break from the shelter, some are recovering from medical procedures, some are too young for adoption, and others simply need a place to learn what life in a home is all about.

The truth is, fostering saves lives. It creates much-needed space in the shelter, helps pets thrive outside of a kennel, and gives us insight into their personalities to help find them the right home.

Whether you can foster for a few days, a few weeks, or longer, there's a dog or cat who could benefit from your kindness. And don't worry if you've never fostered before, our team is here to support you every step of the way!

This Foster a Pet Month, we encourage you to open your heart and make a difference for a shelter pet.

Ready to get started? Email [email protected] and our team can help you find your foster match!🖤

🖤 Reminder: Fosters must be 18 years or older, live within a 30-mile radius of NHA in case of emergency, and other animals in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vet care.

ADOPTED - Caesar is dressed for the occasion!🍕

And by "the occasion," we mean waiting for his future family to come meet him.

Just look at this distinguished gentleman. Clearly Caesar is taking his adoption search very seriously. And luckily, there's still plenty of time to stop by! Thursdays at Nashville Humane mean extended adoption hours, so we're open until 7 PM tonight.

Come meet Caesar and his siblings in person. The only thing missing from his outfit is you!❤️

Excuse me, Oreo has something important to say!

😬

That's it. That's the announcement. Just one tiny teefy smile from this very good boy!

Oreo is the kind of dog who deserves way more attention than he gets, but as a black pittie, he's often passed by. So today, we're putting one of his best features front and center.

His teef!

If this photo made you smile, we hope you'll come meet Oreo at Nashville Humane! We are open until 7 PM on Thursdays, giving you extra time to stop by after work and see his award-winning teef in person.🖤

Brunch plans? We've got them!🐱🌈

Join us for Brunch & Bottomless Meowmosas at Chapstick on June 20 from 10 AM - 1 PM!

We're teaming up with our friends at Chapstick 37206 to bring adoptable cats and kittens straight to brunch. That means you don't have to make a trip to the shelter to meet your new best friend!

Whether you're actively looking to adopt or just want a side of kitten cuddles with your brunch, we'd love to see you there. Come for the meowmosas. Stay for your future kitty!

Franklin's Doggie Date report card is in... and he got straight A's!🎓

He got to spend a few hours out of the shelter on a Doggie Date, and they had nothing but great things to say about him.

From riding calmly in the car to showing off his great leash manners, Franklin proved that he has so much to offer. He was sweet, affectionate, and happy just spending time with his people.

But our favorite part of the report? Fresh-cut grass!

Franklin would be walking, catch a patch of grass, and immediately sploot down before rolling onto his back like the happiest dog you've ever seen. These are the moments we love hearing about. The little pieces of a dog's personality that shine outside the shelter!

Franklin is ready for more afternoons spent rolling in the grass. More afternoons cuddling on the couch. More afternoons with a family of his own.

Come meet Franklin today. We think he's ready to graduate from shelter life for good!🖤

Mark your calendars!💉

Our next monthly Low-Cost Vaccine and Microchip Clinic will be at Walmart Supercenter on Saturday, June 20th (located on the left side of the parking lot)! Community members will be able to receive vaccines, microchips, deworming medication, and flea/tick prevention for their dogs and cats!🐶🐱

How it works: Making an appointment is the best way to guarantee your pet will be seen and helps our team keep the clinic running smoothly. But if appointments are full, walk-ups are still welcome! We’ll accept as many as we can based on availability once the event begins.

Vaccines include: Rabies, DAPP, DAPPL, Bordetella, and FVRCP.
• Maximum of 5 pets per household.
• Cash and/or credit payment options only.
• We ask that all pets please be on a leash or in a carrier.

📌 Reserve your appointment at nashvillehumane.org/resources/petmedicalhelp

Some dogs arrive carrying stories they can't tell us.❤️‍🩹

When Joan came to Nashville Humane from our partners at Robertson County Animal Control in December, it was clear life hadn't been kind to her.

She had trauma to her neck, mammary tumors, dental disease, ear infections, a head tilt, and infected eyes. Over the next six months, she received extensive medical care as our team worked to help her heal.

We don't know exactly what happened to Joan before she was rescued. We don't know how long she lived in pain. We don't know how long her medical needs went untreated. We don't know how many litters she had over the last 9 years.

What we do know is the version of Joan we've fallen in love with today.

The Joan that loves belly rubs, car rides, sleeping with her blankey, and being close to her people. The Joan that gets excited to see our staff and volunteers, even when she's back at the shelter for treatment. The Joan that chooses joy and loves with her whole heart.

Joan is currently in a Foster Home while she waits for a family of her own. If you'd like to meet her, please submit an inquiry at nashvillehumane.org/nha-pets/joan.

We can't change what Joan has been through. But together, we can change what comes next.❤️
