Introducing Archie and Bert, our current low riders! These two stubby-legged charmers aren’t a bonded pair, but they do share a love for waddling walks, snacks, and soaking up attention.

We had such a wonderful time at our adoption event with Nashville Humane! 🐾
Thank you to everyone who came out to Nashville Pet Products in Hermitage to meet some amazing adoptable dogs. It was a fun day full of wagging tails and happy faces! Do you remember Bessie?❣️

Here's the update you've all been waiting for! This sweet pup came to us in March, battling an infectious disease that required round-the-clock care from our Vet Team. Once she began to improve, she was able to rest and heal in a Foster Home for a few weeks before being cleared for adoption. During that time, her Foster fell in love and decided she wanted to make Bessie an official part of her family!

We are excited to share these photos of her FIRST day in her forever home (cue the happy tears)! We couldn't be more grateful for her Foster and our generous community that made her happily ever after possible.❤️

It's only fitting that this also falls on our weekly Gotcha Day post. Today, we’re celebrating all the amazing humans who open their hearts and homes to give pets a second chance. Whether you've adopted, fostered, or simply loved a furry friend like family, today is for YOU!

Today is World Veterinary Day, and we want to spotlight the incredible Vet Services Team at Nashville Humane!🩺🐾

They work tirelessly behind the scenes, providing personalized care and medical attention to every single animal that comes through our doors. Nashville Humane isn’t just a shelter, it’s a stop on the journey to their next chapter, and our veterinary team makes that possible!

From life-saving surgeries to daily medical treatments, they give sick and at-risk animals like Minnie Pearl (pictured here) a second chance. In 2024 alone, they’ve performed 3,187 procedures and ensured every adoptable pet was spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for their next chapter. And that’s only scratching the surface of what they do!

They may not always be in the spotlight, but they’re working 365 days a year to help our animals heal, thrive, and find the love they deserve.

Sweet as syrup, meet Maple!🍁

She is looking for a home where she can pour all her love into her humans (and maybe snag a few belly rubs and Pupperoni along the way). Maple is an outdoor explorer, a sunshine chaser, and a total goofball when she gets the zoomies in the yard. She’s also a tug-of-war champ, a tennis ball enthusiast, and a big fan of chew toys. Maple has lived with dogs in the past and has made a handful of doggie friends in our care, so she's ready to build a new pack! Bonus - she has good leash manners and knows some basic commands too!

Volunteer of the Month!⭐

Mike Johnson may have just started volunteering with us in March, but he’s already become a familiar and much-appreciated face around the shelter! From raking leaves and sprucing up the backyard to fixing up our sensory garden and pitching in wherever needed, Mike’s enthusiasm and work ethic shine through in everything he does. He’s always eager to help and never backs down from a task, big or small. We are so grateful for his hard work, positive attitude, and the care he brings to every project. Thank you, Mike, for making such a big impact in such a short time!

Fran needs your help‼️

Fran was found in a dumpster with her siblings, with no mom, and needing immediate attention from our Vet Team. Unfortunately, they are not the only ones. Kitten season is in full swing, and our team is currently caring for countless kittens like Fran that require extra TLC.

They require daily weigh-ins and extra calories to ensure they grow properly and are strong enough for adoption. To continue nursing, mama cats also require extra nutrition through things like wet food and tasty treats. Your generous donations of gram scales, baby food (meat flavored), and Churu would make a huge difference in helping meet their needs during this critical growth period.

Consider joining us at Nashville Humane for our Dog Whys classes!

"We’ve taken a few classes with our new puppy and absolutely LOVED the classes! Even with years of dog training experience and my background as a horse trainer, I still learned so much. The trainer, Kym, was incredibly knowledgeable, answered all our questions, and helped us with real-life situations we were facing. The flexibility of these group classes is amazing—you can join as many or as few as you like. I can’t recommend Kym enough and definitely plan to take more classes!"
