Did you know you can help a shelter dog get adopted just by spending a little time with them?

💛 Doggie Dates = take a pup out for the afternoon
🌙 Rovernights = host them for one night
🏡 Foster = care for a dog from a few days to a few weeks

These short-term breaks give dogs a chance to shine outside the shelter, and can increase their chances of adoption by 5x or more! Plus, the notes and photos we receive from these outings help us tell potential adopters what the dog is truly like in a home or out in the world. That insight is priceless!

Sometimes the biggest transformations come in the tiniest packages.💜

Dollface came to us after being rescued from a puppy mill. Covered in urine, fearful of the world, and suffering from painful dental disease and large bladder stones, she needed serious TLC.

Thanks to our incredible Vet Team, Dollface underwent surgery to remove the stones and received dental care to ease her pain. Then came the love, lots of it, from her amazing foster family, who showed her what safety, kindness, and comfort feel like.

She’s still a little shy, but she’s come such a long way, and she’s finally ready to be adopted into a home where she’ll be cherished for the rest of her days. Dollface is a shining example of what love can do.✨

The NHA June Staff Member of the Month is... 🥁Sam!

Join us in giving a huge round of applause to Sam, a true asset to our Animal Care Team! Whether she’s greeting staff, volunteers, or adopters, she does so with a kind heart, a listening ear, and a smile that brightens the whole shelter. It's impossible not to feel welcome and appreciated around her. But it doesn’t stop there, Sam goes above and beyond every single day for our animals! She’s one of the hardest workers we know, making sure no dog is left without that one last walk or cuddle before bedtime. She uses every minute of her day to make a difference in the lives of the animals we care for, and it shows. Even on the busiest of days, Sam always takes the time to check in with her teammates: “How’s your day going?” “How was your lunch?” It’s those little moments of kindness that truly make her one-of-a-kind. Thank you, Sam, for the heart, hustle, and happiness you bring to NHA!

Thanks to a partnership with Metro Nashville Animal Care and Control, we are now offering low-cost spay and neuter to Davidson County residents!🐾

We have limited appointments available for June 18th and June 24th, where spay/neuter is only $75 for dogs and cats. If you are interested in securing your spot, please email our team at [email protected] and include your name and phone number. Please note - appointments can not be scheduled through our social media platforms.

If we are unable to get you in for these dates, we may be able to schedule you for a future date or direct you toward other low-cost options. June is a soft launch and we ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate this new program.💙
