As the Rocky Mountain Horse Association approaches 40 years of rich history, the Rocky Mountain breed stands at an unfortunate crossroads. While breeder numbers continue to decline so do the number of horses in existence.

Did you know we are projected to lose approximately 40% of our registered Rockies in the next decade due to age? To avert this crisis, we must aim to produce approximately 1,036 foals annually, yet the past decade has seen an average of less than 500 foals per year. This stark shortfall along with the decrease in breeders underscores the urgent need for collaborative action.

To achieve worldwide recognition of the Rocky Mountain Horse and to preserve the breed that we cherish, we must grow our collaborative efforts. We invite those who share our passion to join us in bringing the Rocky Mountain Horse into the global spotlight. We would love to hear from you!

In light of the recent EHV-1 outbreak and its potential risks to our herd, American Dream Horse is taking precautionary measures, including a two-week lockdown. Thankfully this illness has not been confirmed in Tennessee, however there is a 2-10 day latency period from the time of contact. This highly communicable virus can be transmitted through clothing, equipment, and air from up to 30 feet away, leading to severe consequences, including equine death. We would rather be safe than sorry.

Please keep the horse community in your thoughts and prayers during this challenging time, and remember to keep your horses safe!

American Dream Horse is fortunate to have quick access to some of the most scenic riding in the country. Tennessee and Alabama are renowned for their extensive horse trails and popular equine trail systems, attracting horseback riding enthusiasts from far and wide.

Our farm features over 10 miles of trails and is conveniently located near stunning routes such as the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area and the historic Natchez Trace Parkway. Additionally, Alabama boasts impressive trails in Oak Mountain State Park, Seven Springs, and the lush Bankhead National Forest, all within a day's drive.

We are truly blessed to have access to such outstanding trail systems for training and riding our Rocky Mountain Horses.

What an unforgettable journey it’s been raising this gentle and stunning c**t. From day one, “Howie” has stolen hearts with his sweet temperament and outstanding conformation. This boy is such a nice mover and will do well in any direction.

Machi is a quiet and gentle stallion, boasting a beautiful trail pleasure gait and a compact build. His color genetics are Grullo Roan, and he is homozygous black with no Silver.
