💙 Dobby 💙

One of our favorite little long-bodied legends stopped by — sweet Dobby!

Dobby previously had a hemilaminectomy (back surgery), and because we want to protect that precious spine of his, we sedate him for visits — even routine ones. While he may look a little unsure in this photo, he is waking up from anesthesia and is waiting for us to pick him up. (Which of course, we did because when he is with us, he is carried by our staff for most of the day). Sedation helps keep him calm, prevents anxiety, and most importantly keeps him from tensing or tweaking his back during handling.

For our IVDD and back-surgery pups, stress and sudden movement can undo a lot of hard-earned healing. A little extra care goes a long way in keeping them safe and comfortable.

Dobby did great (as always), got lots of gentle snuggles, and went home to resume his very important dachshund duties. 🐾

We’re so proud of this brave boy! 💙

Nutmeg and her family will always hold a special place in our hearts. 💙 We’re honored to help facilitate a meaningful donation from the family of one of our beloved patients who recently passed. Through their generosity, prescription food was donated to local nonprofit Helping People Helping Pets to support pets in need. Thank you for letting your pet’s legacy continue to help others. 🐾

🐾 Meet Rowdy! 🐾

True to his name, this fun-loving guy got a little too rowdy and injured his paw pad, but after surgical care and lots of TLC, he’s on the mend 💙🐶

Rowdy is still working through the healing process, but his spirit (and personality!) are as strong as ever. Keep up the good healing vibes, Rowdy—we can’t wait to see you back to full-speed fun!

🎄🧦 Our stockings are hung, the names are all in place, and it’s time for a little holiday cheer!
