Napa Valley Dog Training Club

Organized in 1970, the Napa Valley Dog Training Club, Inc. is a Nonprofit Corp. and licensed by AKC. NVDTC Club membership is open to anyone. Visitors are welcome.

Established in 1970, the Napa Valley Dog Training Club (NVDTC) is a volunteer run nonprofit organization. We have two main goals: First, to promote responsible pet ownership by offering affordable training classes to the community. Second, to provide advanced training to those individuals interested in showing and competing with their dogs in trials to earn titles. At our General Meetings, held t

he 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30pm, interested individuals can join. Members who attend General Meetings receive a $10 coupon that can be used on training class fees. All club members receive a $10 discount on classes each session. http://www.nvdtc.org/membership/

The NVDTC offers training classes year-round from entry thru advanced levels. Our experienced instructors and assistants want to help you reach your training goals. You can leave a message at 707-253-8666 or [email protected] and include your phone number, a little information about your dog and what level of training you are seeking. Our volunteers will connect with you as soon as possible.

Have you heard of SHED DOG ??? Neither have most of us. And, no, it's not about your dog shedding fur all over your house. It is about your dog finding ANTLERS naturally shed from deer, elk and other game.

This new class, offered in Session 5 and starting at the end of July on Wednesday mornings, is a fun way to expand your dog's scenting and retrieving abilities. The instructors will take small steps to ensure your dog has a great time!

Registration for Session 5 open on June 29th. That's only a few days away and lots of fun classes to choose from.

Tomorrow, June 20th is NATIONAL DOG DAD DAY !! We hope YOU and your families enjoy both June 20 and June 21, FATHER'S DAY, with the people and pets you love.

SNIFF-n-GO on Sunday, July 12, 2026 from 8:00am till 12/noon at the Napa Valley Dog Training Club in Napa, CA.

BURIED, VEHICLE, INTERIOR, EXTERIOR, and CONTAINERS will be offered. The level of classes mixed to meet participants’ needs.

Entries will be limited, and Day-of-Match entries only accepted if the event is not full. Costs: $10.00 / run - OR - 8 runs for $75.00, 7 runs for $65.00 and 6 runs for $55.00.

We have NEW CANINE SPORT Classes on Wednesday mornings in Napa starting in July 2026.

HUNT DRIVE LEVEL 1 is an introduction class for Lost Item and Shed Dog (where a dog will find antlers shed by deer, elk or other game). Teams will learn basic drive skills, go out and away from the handler and search with confidence. Dog must be at least 6-months old with a nice Recall. This class does not require previous scent work experience but will include homework.

This 3-week class is only $75 and planned for Wednesday mornings starting July 1.

Registration opens on June 14th.

On National Best Friends Day we are honored to highlight LINDA WARGO, the recipient of our 2025 Gerry Glantz Memorial Club Service Award.

Linda's lifelong love of dogs, and her compassion for all two footed and four footed friends makes her an outstanding club member. 💖

UPDATE 6-9-26: SPACE STILL OPEN!!! ❣️ Classes are Tuesdays at 5:10pm. New People and their Pups will be pro-rated for the remainder of Session 4.

Our club is lucky to have FREESTYLE classes at our location. We are one of the few places in Northern California to offer this activity!

This sport combines teamwork, obedience, flow and music unlike any other canine activity. Musical Rally with Freestlye and Tricks is open@ to all families and dogs with basic skills. Participants will have the opportunity to learn some standard rally exercises PLUS moves and tricks that keep people and pups learning.
