Well, the cat (or dog) is out of the bag. This guy is headed our way tomorrow.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, to Lynne M. who is doing the entire trasnsport herself to try to make it easier for Old Blue Eye.
UPDATE 8/28/26: IDAWG will shelter pull Mac on 8/29/26!
Good Morning Friends.
Tri-Cities Animal Services told us about Mac and we knew we had to try to help him! Will you help Mac make his way out of the shelter and into a caring, loving adoptive home?
Mac is a 37-pound rough collie mix with one blue eye and one brown eye. He landed in the shelter as a stray. Staff call him a "sweet old man". He is estimated to be about 11 years old. This dear boy was found wandering, and no one has come to claim him. The kind folks at the shelter say that Mac is shutting down, and it is breaking their hearts. We would love to help Mac make his way out of the shelter and into an adoptive home, wouldn't you?
Mac appears to be pretty thin. Who knows how long he was out on his own? A wonderful volunteer at the shelter has been coaxing him out of his kennel to go for walks. He goes reluctantly at this point. Mac needs an adopter who will show him compassion and patience as he learns he can trust and love again. The time and effort will no doubt be worth it!
Because he is currently in a fragile state, Mac has not been observed around other dogs. We would guess a home without unpredictable young children would be best for a sensitive fellow like Mac. To help Mac come out of his shell, we would recommend a calm home where he can decompress.
The shelter did a vet check on Mac's arrival. No glaring health issues were noted. His adopter should be prepared to provide Mac with veterinary care, good-quality food, and perhaps grooming. We would love to see Mac after some time, post-adoption, with some weight on him, happy and cleaned up. He is a very handsome dog; he just needs someone to come along, make a lifetime commitment to him, and shine him up!
Mac is posted for the Tri-Cities Animal Services of Pasco, WA. For more information about Mac and how to give him the adoptive home he deserves, please check out this link: https://24petconnect.com/PP6628/Details/PP6628/61583108
This is not an Old Dog Haven dog. Old Dog Haven has not assessed this dog for medical issues and will not be responsible for medical care after adoption. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
