We’re excited to shine the spotlight on our amazing Lead Room Tech, Lexi, who’s been with us for a year and a half! Lexi’s passion for veterinary medicine is truly inspiring! She dreams of becoming a veterinarian someday and loves the constant learning opportunities her role provides, saying she gets to learn something new every time she walks into the clinic. The adorable picture features Larry Douglass, a furry friend owned by Maura and Shane Messer, which perfectly showcases Lexi’s love for animals. We’re grateful to have Lexi on our team and look forward to seeing her grow in her journey toward becoming a veterinarian!

Pet of the month

Meet Tiger, our July Pet of the Month and a true survivor. Born into a litter of four, Tiger was one of only two kittens to make it through a brutal start to life. He was found in April—during the rainiest stretch of the year—tucked under a lawn mower in a flooded yard. His mother, doing her best to protect her babies, had placed them on the mower blades to keep them dry. Thankfully, Joseph, their rescuer and future owner, found them just in time and brought them in for care.
Tiger and his siblings were all battling feline herpes, and Tiger had a severely injured left eye. We feared the worst and prepared for an enucleation, but to our surprise, only his third eyelid needed to be removed. Since then, this little fighter has shown incredible resilience, quickly capturing the hearts of everyone he meets. Against all odds, this tiny survivor pulled through with incredible strength and heart. Now on the road to a full recovery, Tiger’s story is a powerful reminder of resilience, hope, and the healing that love and care can bring—even to the smallest, most fragile lives.

Panleukopenia, commonly known as feline distemper, is the feline equivalent of parvovirus found in dogs. The virus can be deadly, especially for newborn kittens with already weak immune systems.
